The morning sun hits the lake,

A seventeen-year-old girl must awake,

A day planned out for her,

Her loyal handmaiden helps her dress,

She goes down to the hall to meet her queen,

She bows before her and leaves,

Arrives then in the temple,

Her master waits,

He will train her to be great,

She dresses in her robe,

An apprentice of the Force,

Hours passed of learning,

She changes back into her royal robes,

She is now free,

She goes to her garden to sit alone,

Engulfed in the wind of swaying trees,

This is her home,

Naboo,

Known since she was born,

Raised by the queen,

Never knew the life outside,

Family, she had far away,

A brother and a sister,

Twins they are,

Both are older than her,

One called Luke,

The other Leia,

A brother in law she has,

Married to her sister,

He's called Han,

The wind stops,

Silence has fallen over Theed,

Lake Camo's waves have stopped moving,

A hand goes on her shoulder,

It's her; the one who cares,

The one who raised her as a child,

The royal queen,

Long blond hair tied back into braids,

And royal robes of blue and green,

She sits next to her,

She's quiet but calm,

She puts something in her hand,

She walks away quietly,

Now alone she opens her hand,

The most precious thing to her,

Her mother's snippet,

Given to her mother during the Invasion of Naboo,

Her mother is now gone,

She had died at her lover's hand,

But years after giving life to another,

A little girl was found in the temple,

All she had on her was the snippet,

Night falls over the palace walls,

In her quarters she's quiet,

She puts away her snippet,

Her hope is all in her faith,

Her name is Padme'.
