Why does love make us so blind?

The roads we are shown to take,

I linger by your side waiting,

Wanting to know if I'm the one,

My wings folded up against my back,

I sit waiting to take my first flight of freedom,

Feathers ever so simmering in the sun's rays,

Flowing in the wind of the mountains,

I run gliding into the air,

I'm finally flying free against the hills and valleys,

There you stand waiting with open arms,

But suddenly you disappear,

I fall onto the hard rocky ground,

Where did I go wrong?

Did I choose you right?

Wings once again folded back waiting for my next flight.
