Reality Within A Daydream

By the water's edge, I sit,

Ripples of water in little patches,

Even if he's not by my side I still can feel him,

In knowing that he is watching me,

Behind me sits the home we both share,

I turn to notice him staring at me,

Standing on our bedroom second-floor balcony,

His eyes a pure muddy brown hazel,

Hair of almost a charcoal black tied back into a bun,

He's been growing it out since I can remember,

Why does he always stare at me with a smile on his face?

Before I can blink back from a daydream he's here,

Sitting behind me as I lean back into the sternness of his chest,

Softly he places a kiss on my pale white cheek,

As if telling me that he always protects me,

He is my strength whenever I feel weak,

My armor when I go into the fearsome of battles,

He is the hand that I hold,

How our lives have led to this moment I do not know,

At times I question why yet we're happy,

Through the bad, we stuck it out,

Our lives as if incomplete without one another,

With days that pass our fondness for each other grows,

Shh...he whispers; almost knowing that I am racing in thought,

He holds me close to him,

Constantly reassuring me of his faithfulness unto me,

Sometimes I wake in the morning to see him staring back at me,

He watches me sleep whenever he is the first to awaken,

Telling me he knows that I'm beautiful even when I don't believe it,

Calling me an angel,

I don't tell him I stare too,

After he showers, he shines like a diamond,

Every inch of him is pure beauty,

He is a work of art; tattoos and all,

In the moonlight of the night oh how he gleams,

I wish he could see the wonder that he is,

The magic of his touch caressing my skin,

His every kiss intoxicating me like a fine Italian wine,

I am in love with that feeling,

Out from under me I am swept off the ground,

Into his arms, I latch myself to him,

He rocks me like a child,

I am his baby as he calls me,

For I am small yet not truly tiny,

I could fall asleep like this,

In a haven, we have built all our own,

Every night we dream of our impending lives,

Not wanting things to come too quickly,

One day at a time,

As one spoken word changed our worlds,

Bringing us to this moment in time,

Oh, how I yearn for thee,

He is the sun I bask in every day,

He is the stars I sleep under,

He is everything I could ever want in this life,

A miracle in his own right,

A survivor of the odds and of sorrow,

No matter what is to come I will stay by his side,

For as long as he allows it to be so,

A hope I keep on having every moment of every day,

Stay a while with me,

For you, I would forever!
