A Collection of Poems

Eyes

Eyes lead to our souls,

Telling our every truth,

Our every lie,

Eyes judge our appearance,

Flicking above and below,

As if to be put on exhibit,

Fears,

Hopes,

Rest in our hearts,

Eyes never caring to see the real truth,

But one will truly find the key,

Opening the door of dreams,

Future awakenings,

Only a few keys have been found,

Mine has been lost for years,

Many have tried but failed,

Trusting their every word,

Lies among lies are told to her,

Left empty and alone,

Trampled on as if a tiny insect,

Below their feet she is,

Leaving her scarred forever,

Known never to trust again,

Will his eyes find her key?

Freedom from her fears,

Her pain was left behind,

Scars now healed away,

They come only to be pushed away,

Fears run her life,

Eyes able to read others,

Find there what they hide,

She feeds off their energy like a vampire; to keep on going,

Yearning for strength and freedom,

Once he came to her,

Fear pushed her away from him,

Regrets now linger as fresh scars,

Reminders of loss and pain,

Telling her she can never be one,

Never feeling the love from others,

Alone forever in her darkened prison,

Learning never to trust a boy,

The words he says,

Just lies they are to her now,

But yet the yearning still lingers,

His words,

His touch,

His smile,

Haunting her everlasting soul,

Wanting so badly for him to come back,

She knows he won't,

He's forever a scar upon her heart,

A reminder of what could have been,

She wonders if he was the one,

The other part of her soul,

Her number two of hearts,

Dreams haunt her sleep,

Regret is all that's left,

Her faith was broken forever,

No more hope is left behind,

Fighting a battle alone,

A knight amongst the dragons,

A Jedi amongst the Sith,

Her weapon is her mind,

But now her eyes must see,

Peer deep into her soul,

Dig deeper than she ever has,

No more fear, pain, regrets,

It's time to fight,

Her eyes lead the way.
