When does the river flow?

How does the water go off the falls?

Why do the trees sway in the wind?

Questions flutter in our minds,

But one is truly certain,

Love is forever the true answer,

I remember those days in the woods,

Climbing the highest of trees only to sneak a peek at the world below,

Jumping off the falls into the watery abbess,

Chasing after each other across the meadows,

I'd hide in the brush wondering if you'd find me,

You'd stalk me like I was prey,

But yet I was never afraid,

You look above to reveal your deep hazel eyes,

It's a game we play to keep each other guessing,

I run again only to be caught in your arms,

Your nose brushes against my ear,

You let go and I run,

I look down upon you from the cliffs,

I jump down into the cold water below,

On the banks, I see your face just laughing at me,

I splash you as your face turns into a frown,

I hide behind the falls while you search for me,

My face, hidden from your presence,

You stand to face me but yet you can't see,

You pull your hand through the waters tears,

I take it knowing that I'm safe,

Your face, soaked with water,

Drops drip from your eyelashes as I wipe them away,

You kiss my hand,

Your touch is soothing to my heart,

We lie there on the banks under the sun,

Warmth to our cold skin,

The sun sparkles in your eyes like a diamond,

I feel your eyes penetrate my back as you watch me sleep,

Breathes going in and out,

I awaken startled as you pull me towards you,

Your heart beats like the sound of a tribal drum,

Who knew that love could come to this?

The leaves sway in the wind,

The waves go in and out,

But yet we still linger,

Hearts made of steel,

Not afraid of anything,

Above mother earth, we remain,

But below we will be one.
