I slouched in my seat, staring at the clock eagerly. The school day was almost over and I was almost excited to leave, nearly forgetting about my own personal Hell that I was about to endure. It seemed like time was going by slower than normal. My fingernails tapped anxiously on the desk, making an annoying sound, but no one dared to say anything to me. Then, the second I looked away from the clock the bell rang. I reluctantly made my way outside to my honda accord. My car is black I like to make the joke it matches my soul. I then head to Grayson's cafe. When I arrived Indigo was already sitting patiently at a booth.

"Hey, you know you don't get a prize for arriving at mandatory tutoring early, right?" I joked, sitting down in front of him. He rolled his eyes and frowned.

"Let's just get this over with." He scoffed. I nodded and he pulled some textbooks out of his bag.

"Is that what you read for fun?" I teased. He rolled his eyes.

"At least I read at all, Airhead." He remarked. I huffed, feeling a bit deflated by that comment, but I pushed it away. He began to turn through pages and pages of useless bullshit, or what I saw as useless bullshit, before turning it to face me and pointing at a math problem.

"What's this?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. He sighed.

"Are you so dumb that you don't know what a math problem is?" He asked as if he was disappointed in me. I rolled my eyes.

"No, I meant we both know I can easily pass without tutoring," I responded, leaning back in my seat, crossing my arms. He shrugged.

"Then why are you failing?" He asked. I smirked.

"To pass you need to make an effort." I retorted. His mouth gaped at my remark.

"So you're saying that we're stuck in tutoring every day for three weeks because you decided not to apply yourself?" He stated angrily. I nodded and examined my nails out of boredom.

"Yep. That's pretty much it." I shrugged. He was furious, but I didn't care, I just leaned forward, looking at a menu.

"You gonna eat something while we're here?" I asked with a smile. He shook his head.

"You're unbelievable, you know that?" He asked, standing up.

"Where are you going?" I asked as he left the booth.

"Home" And with that, he stormed out. I watched as he trudged to his car and drove away, doing a burnout amid his anger.

. . .

I arrived at my house with a frown on my face and a coffee in my hand, walking straight to my room, avoiding any possible chance that I'd hear the words,

"Violet, can you do me a favor?" My room was my sacred alone place, where I went when I just wanted silence, and today was one of those days. I was so tired, but not in the 'I need a nap' way, more mentally drained than anything else. I'd hardly been at tutoring for ten minutes when Indigo got pissed and ran away. Why do I care? I wondered but never looked for the answer. He was angry at me and I vowed something to myself as I lay on my bed, staring at the ceiling. I wasn't going back to another tutoring session with him. After five minutes of lying on my bed, I got a phone call.

"Hello?" I asked.

"So? Tell me about it! How'd it go? Did I call too early?" Nat's voice buzzed. I chuckled.

"Nat, calm down. It went how you'd expect." I explained. I could practically feel her disappointment from the other line.

"Aw, what happened?" She asked. I shrugged.

"He got mad at me because he figured out the whole reason we have to do this dumb tutoring is because I don't do my work," I explained.

"Then?" She pushed. I raised my eyebrow.

"Then he left. Why are you so eager for this tutoring to end the feud?" I asked. She huffed.

"Because if the tutoring doesn't, something way worse will." She mused. I nodded.

"Oh yeah, your 'heartbreak and tears' theory. You have quite the imagination." I joked.

"Haha. You won't be laughing when I'm right. Don't forget how well it worked out last time." She sighed. I rolled my eyes, getting up off my bed and walking to the door.

"Yeah, yeah. I have to go. I think Damien is fussing." I responded, hanging up then going into the room that my mother resided in.

"Hey, Mom. How are you feeling?" I asked, kissing her forehead. She shrugged, a frown carved onto her face.

"What's wrong?" I asked, sitting next to her.

"Just the pain, don't worry, it's nothing I can't handle." She assured me, grabbing my hand. I felt bad for her, but mostly I was proud of her for dealing with everything so well.

"How's Damien?" I asked, glancing over at his crib.

"Tired. He didn't get any sleep until you got home and then he was out like a light." She chuckled. I smiled and sighed.

"Are you okay?" She asked. I nodded and looked over at her.

"I had tutoring with Indigo today," I explained. She raised her eyebrow.

"That Indigo?" She asked. I nodded, leaning forward. It was silent for a couple of minutes as she tried to think of a proper response.

"How'd it go?" She asked, Splitting the silent atmosphere that surrounded us. I shook my head.

"Not the best" I shrugged. It was silent for a while before I looked over at her and smiled.

"I think I'm gonna go get some rest." I sighed. She nodded and I walked over to Damien, kissed his forehead, and then went to my room to go to sleep, ending my day.
