I laid in Indigo's bed, staring at the ceiling. It was around 5 P.M and Indigo had been sleeping all day. We'd both skipped school, him because he was sleeping, and me because I didn't want to face reality. I had slept with Indigo and right after he passed out, while I walked around, got dressed, and cleaned up some beer bottles off of the ground. I eventually ended up lying back down though. I knew I should've left, but I was so comfortable being next to Indigo. Suddenly, there was a knock on his door.
"Indigo!" Rayne's voice called. I sat up and shook Indigo.
"What? Oh my God, Violet? Did we-" He asked. I nodded and got up.
"And Rayne is here, make yourself look less like you had sex," I demanded, rushing out and through the back and going home.
Indigo opened the door, his head pounding.
"Hey, Indigo. You didn't show up to school and you weren't answering my texts or calls, so I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Rayne smiled at him. He smiled back.
"I'm sorry, I just don't feel well." He apologized. She nodded.
"Okay, well, I'm going to go back home. I have some chores to do. I'll see you after though, right?" She chuckled, kissing his cheek and rushing off. As soon as she was gone, Indigo rushed inside, grabbing his phone and calling Todd.
"Indigo, hey, where are you?" He asked. Indigo sighed.
"That's why I'm calling you. I need you to come over, like, now." He demanded.
"Um, I'm with Nat. Can't it wait?" Todd argued. Indigo sighed.
"Definitely not. Just hurry up and get here." He ordered, hanging up.
Indigo sighed as Todd sat down in front of him.
"What was so important that you had to pull me away from Nat?" Todd asked. Indigo sighed.
"I think I slept with Violet." He announced.
"You think?" Todd asked. Indigo rolled his eyes.
"Okay. I slept with Violet." He corrected.
"Did you plan all of this? Because when you first started liking Violet you were afraid I'd be upset, is it because you knew you were gonna fuck up this bad and just wanted to make sure I was cool with it?" Todd replied. Indigo bit his lip nervously.
"I don't know what to do." He frowned.
"You called me here to fix your problem?" Todd tilted his head.
"Todd now is not the time for you to be giving me friendship lessons." Indigo hissed.
"You're right, but it's the perfect time for you to get boyfriend lessons." Todd sighed. Indigo didn't say anything, just sat there in silence.
"What do you want me to do?" Todd added with a sigh. Indigo shook his head.
"I'm not sure. Should I tell Rayne?" He asked. Todd bit his lip, deep in concentration.
"Do you care about Rayne? Or do you care about Violet?" Todd asked. Indigo let out a huff.
"Rayne, of course. I love her." Indigo replied. Todd tilted his head.
"Do you? Think about it, do you really love Rayne?" He asked. Indigo paused and thought about it for a second. He thought so. He was pretty sure that he loved Rayne, but if he loved Rayne why was Violet always on his mind? Why did he even sleep with Violet? And why was he so drawn to Violet, even though Rayne was the perfect girl?
"I'm sure, Todd." He replied, but he was lying. He was now full of doubt and Todd knew it.
"Then, yeah, tell her and try to work it out with her." Todd sighed, even though he knew that wasn't the advice he wanted to give since he wasn't Rayne's biggest fan, knowing that she wasn't what Indigo wanted, what would make Indigo happy. Indigo sighed and pulled out his phone, texting Rayne as Todd left.
. . .
Indigo frowned, licking his lips nervously as Rayne walked into his house and sat on the couch next to him. She tilted her head, a smile on her face.
"So, what was it you needed to tell me?" She asked. Indigo sighed, grabbing her hand gently.
"I, um, I did something yesterday and I regretted it instantly, I just couldn't keep it from you." He admitted. Rayne's smile dropped and she gave him a worried look.
"Are you okay? What happened Indigo?" She asked. He frowned, kissing her hand.
"Yesterday at tutoring Violet and I kissed. I felt so bad about it came home and got drunk and she showed up and...long story short, I slept with Violet." He explained. Her jaw fell open and her eyes began to water.
"What? Are you- Are you serious?" She asked. He nodded and looked down in shame.
"I'm so sorry. I understand if you don't want to be with me anymore, but I want to try to work this out." He explained, looking up at her, tears of guilt in his eyes. His stomach wrenched, waiting for her response. After a couple of seconds, she burst into tears, wrapping her arms around him.
"Why? W-Why would you do it?" She cried in his arms. He licked his lips and shook his head.
"I don't know, but I am so so sorry. I promise it was a one-time thing." He apologized. She cried for a while more before she sat up straight, sniffling and wiping her eyes.
"Indigo, I love you. I want to fix this, but I don't want you talking to Violet anymore." She ordered. Indigo's heart dropped. For Rayne, he'd have to give up Violet. He nodded, kissing Rayne's cheek.
"Okay, I love you." He smiled sadly. He'd agreed, but he didn't know how hard it would be to ignore Violet, that was, if she wasn't already going to ignore him
. . .
I sat on my bed, not thinking at all really. I felt basically numb. My mind was blank, I didn't know what to think, so I didn't. Suddenly someone knocked on my bedroom door.
"Not in the mood! Come back in a million years!" I called. Suddenly the door pushed open and Nat walked in with a frown on her face.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me." She pouted, sitting next to me.
"Okay, Hey Nat, I just slept with Indigo and potentially ruined all chances I have of being with him, plus confirmed he doesn't want to be with me, but I'm fine because who needs emotions, am I right?" I snapped sarcastically. She sighed, putting her hand on my back comfortingly.
"I've ruined everything." I sighed. That was when the reality of the situation set in. Everything going on hit me. I'd lost Indigo, I was losing Nat to Todd, and I had a freaking child to take care of. I had another life in my hands, yet I was too distracted by Indigo. I just broke down sobbing.
"It's all my fault, Nat." I sobbed, leaning into a hug. She soothingly stroked my hair and I let her, just crying into her arms because that was all I could do. I'd ruined everything and I couldn't go back, so I just had to accept the consequences and move on, but that definitely wasn't as easy as it sounded.
