Indigo stormed into the front office, anger radiating off of him.

"Mr. Matthews!" He demanded, knocking on the door to the Principal's office. After a couple of seconds, the door opened and Principal Matthews stood there with a glare in his eyes.

"Yes, Indigo?" He asked, faking politeness.

"I need to talk to you about the mandatory tutoring you are forcing me into," Indigo explained. Mr. Matthews sighed, letting Indigo into his office where he sat down in front of the Principal's desk.

"You mean the one you skipped yesterday?" Mr. Matthews raised his eyebrow.

"How did you know" Indigo shook his head in confusion.

"I know people at Grayson's," he said with a smile. "There are only a few places in this small town to go for tutoring and I knew yall wouldn't go to each other's house so all it took was a couple of calls," he said smiling.

"Okay fine but I can't. I just can't. She's insufferable, plus she doesn't even need help. She just needs to do her work." Indigo expressed. Mr. Matthews nodded.

"Do you remember what we talked about?" He explained. Indigo sighed.

"I thought I could...." Indigo admitted. Mr. Matthews rolled his eyes.

"Indigo, do you want her to fail? Drop out? Ruin her life?" Mr. Matthews asked. Indigo felt a pit in his stomach as he looked at the adult in front of him.

"This is going to be the longest three weeks of my life," Indigo explained, storming out of the office, just as the first bell rang. It was halfway through the first period when the phone in the class started ringing and the teacher answered it.

"Mhm. Yes, she is. I'll send her right up." Then she hung up and looked directly at me.

"Violet, Principal Matthews wants to see you." She spoke. I stood up and headed straight to the office, sitting in front of Mr. Matthews' desk.

"Yes?" I asked with a frown on my face.

"I have become aware that Indigo ditched your tutoring session yesterday." He explained. I nodded, crossing my arms.

"So what?" I asked, shrugging. He sighed.

"You're not planning on skipping now, are you?" He asked, his eyebrow raised. I shook my head pretending to be offended.

"Matthews, how dare you? I would never disobey you." I rolled my eyes. He glared at me.

"Violet, don't skip. You may leave now." He announced. I nodded and rushed back to class.

. . .

Indigo sat at a booth all by himself, waiting for Violet to show up. He wasn't hopeful that she would actually show up. It wasn't likely after he left yesterday. The thought of her not showing up upset him even though he hated her there past connect them so he still wants her to be better but as he sat there, minute by minute he grew more and more disappointed. Finally, it'd been an hour and Violet still hadn't shown up, so he left, going home to get ready for work.

. . .

I hopped off my bike, looking around at the scenery surrounding me. It was dark out as I stood in front of a large lake, but the lake wasn't the reason I was there, the large weeping willow tree that resided right next to the lake was. That particular tree held a very special place in my heart and as I grew closer I could feel memories flooding back into my mind, making me feel almost like I was drowning in them. Our first and last kisses were here. Almost every important milestone in our lives happened here. Slowly, edging closer, the initials carved into the tree became more and more visible, eventually allowing me to read them.

"I & V

Forever and eternity."
