Indigo saw Violet rush out of the house, which while it bothered him, was not what prompted him to chase after her. He chased after her because he could see the tears pouring from her eyes. He jumped up from his seat and ran out the door, but he'd got there just in time to see her speeding away from the house and him, probably forever. Indigo mentally cursed at himself for what he'd done. He was, of course, referring to Rayne when he said what he was thankful for, but for some reason he couldn't take his eyes off of Violet. She looked undeniably exhausted. She had bags under her eyes from lack of sleep and her hair was thrown up in a messy bun, but she was still breathtakingly gorgeous to Indigo. He had heard everything Violet was yelling to Nat, and the entire town probably did too. Every word she said filled him with guilt. Indigo sat on the porch step, too preoccupied with his thoughts to even notice when Todd sat down next to him.

"You okay?" He asked. Indigo shook his head.

"Yes? No? Maybe? I don't know." He sighed, looking down at his hands.

"You know, you got up pretty fast there." Todd pointed out, trying to make something out of it. Indigo rolled his eyes, the image of Violet sobbing as she ran outside flashing in his mind, once again filling him to the brim with guilt.

"She was crying." Indigo dismissed. Todd nodded and it was silent for a minute before Todd spoke up again.

"Indigo. You're my best friend, which is why I'm telling you this. You're being selfish." Todd stated. Indigo was about to protest, but Todd continued.

"You don't do it intentionally, but you're playing with their emotions. You're with Rayne, but every time you're around Violet you do something to get her hopes up, to make her fall for you all over again and it's hurting her." Todd explained. Indigo knew that he was right, but he argued anyways,

"That isn't true because Violet doesn't-" He didn't have time to finish his sentence before Todd was on his feet, a reckless energy surrounding him.

"Shut the hell up Indigo!" He snapped, pausing to examine Indigo's reaction. When he saw that Indigo wasn't going to protest, he continued. "If a girl doesn't like you, she won't cry over you. If a girl doesn't like you, she won't keep coming back after getting played every time. If a girl doesn't like you, she wouldn't be there in an instant if you needed her. If a girl doesn't like you, she wouldn't be worried about your wellbeing or your happiness, but you're right Indigo, Violet doesn't like you because she is in love with you. Now get your head outta your ass and decide. Do you love Rayne? Or do you love Violet?" Todd finished, looking down at his friend for second before heading inside.

Indigo laid on his bed with his phone pressed to his ear, trying desperately to think about anything but Violet.

"How'd dinner with Todd go?" Rayne asked. Indigo sighed and licked his lips.

"It was..." He paused, trying to think of the right word,

"Boring." He decided. "I hope Todd appreciated it.

" He added quickly, though that part was true. He heard Rayne giggle from the other line and a small smile formed on his face. One point to Rayne then. Indigo knew that he shouldn't have been tallying up exactly who he loved more, but he was so confused and the only way he could cope with how he was feeling was to turn it into a sort of game. One that neither of the players knew about. Surely, he loved Rayne, right? She was perfect. Everything about her was perfect. She cooked, she played video games, she was funny, cute, beautiful, and caring, but his mind always went back to Violet, no matter what.

"Well, I wish you were here. I don't think I'll last three whole days without you." She pouted. Indigo let out a soft sigh, his confusion growing even worse.
