Over the weekend Indigo spent more time with Rayne than he should of, but he couldn't help it, she was a dangerous kind of addicting and he had started to connect with her in a way more than just friends. It was as if he was drawn to her for some reason. By the time Monday came, he had begun to convince himself that it wasn't worth it. Violet would say no and he'd be miserable, so he decided to move on before giving it a chance. When Todd approached Indigo that morning, Indigo didn't know how to break it to him.

"You ready?" He asked. Indigo tilted his head.

"Ready for what?" He replied. Todd's smile dropped instantly.

"God Damn it Indigo. You like Rayne now, don't you?" He sighed. Indigo shrugged.

"Yeah, so?" He asked. Todd raised his eyebrow.

"What about Violet? Or did you forget about her?" He asked. Indigo shook his head, raising his eyebrow.

"Of course not, but it's not gonna happen anyway, so might as well move on." He sighed. Todd rolled his eyes.

"Whatever, man. Have fun." He walked away, just as I walked up to Indigo with a nervous smile on my face. "Hey, Indy." I greeted, a smile on my face. He nodded in response, before completely ditching me, strutting off.

I waited, patiently for Indigo to arrive at our tutoring, since he was five minutes late, excited to finally tell him how I felt, but when he arrived, all excitement instantly left my body. He walked in, very nonchalantly, his phone pressed against his ear.

"I'll try to get off of work. Okay, yeah. Talk to you later Rayne. Bye." He then hung up his phone and looked at me.

"Hi." He greeted with a bright smile, the kind you only have when you're in love. "Who was that?" I asked, trying to act like I was just making fun of him.

"Her name is Rayne. Hopefully, my future girlfriend." He smirked. I felt sick to my stomach in that second and if he didn't see it he was blind because my eyes were burning with tears and I was probably shaking knowing that I would've completely embarrassed myself. Even though it hurt, I swallowed my pride and nodded.

"Oh, that's nice. I, um, I have to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back." I excused myself, rushing off, after telling the teacher I was going to the bathroom. All weekend I had been building myself up to tell Indigo how I was beginning to feel something for him again, while he was off flirting with whoever Rayne was. It made my insides churn from anger and sadness. I honestly couldn't tell if I was more mad or upset, but either way, I didn't go back to the tutoring that day, I went home and I cried, lying on my bed with my bedroom door locked and my music turned up loud enough to block out the sound.

. . .

Indigo sat on his bed after getting home from hanging out with Rayne, his thoughts racing. Did Rayne like him back? Did Violet like him? Why did Violet skip the tutoring, even though they'd been going so well? Was she mad at him? When would he see Rayne again? All these questions and more swirled through his mind like a hurricane. He had no idea what to do. Violet was a beautiful, happy part of his past, but also his enemy of three years and he couldn't help but wonder if maybe Violet and him belonged in the past. Rayne was new, gorgeous, and funny. He didn't know if he cared more about Violet or Rayne, but he knew that someone was going to get hurt if he kept going the way he was and he hoped to God it was him instead of either one of them. Then as he laid on his bed he heard a knock on his window. He got up, walked to his window, and looked down to see Rayne sitting in the tree by his window. Quickly he pulled his window open.

"Oh my God, Rayne. What are you doing here?" He asked as she climbed in through his window. Indigo couldn't help but admire her. She had long maroon hair and bright blue eyes that reminded him of a clear summer sky. She wore very little makeup and always wore a black leather jacket with a pair of black jeans and knee-high black leather boots.

"I missed you and you weren't answering my texts, I got worried." She chuckled, sitting on his bed. He shrugged.

"Sorry, I was thinking." He apologized, sitting next to her. She shrugged and looked at him.

"I also have good news. I convinced my parents to let me go to school with you." She smiled. Indigo smiled brightly and hugged her.

"That's amazing." He pulled away, but his eyes got caught in her gaze and it was like he couldn't look away. Her eyes were so bright and happy and for once in his house, he didn't feel alone and he loved the feeling. As soon as the thought escaped his mind he realized that she had begun to slowly lean closer to him, her eyes drifting closed. He couldn't help it, he leaned forward too and met his lips with hers. Her lips were so soft and plump and tasted like strawberries. His heart was beating a million miles a minute and butterflies were stampeding in his stomach. She pulled away first, a smile on her face, letting out a soft giggle. He could still feel her lips on his and he craved to have them back again.

"Wow." She breathed, her smile frozen on her face. He was smiling too, and he didn't think he'd ever be able to stop.

"Agreed." He chuckled. His eyes were pouring into hers, but he didn't dare lean in. She'd kissed him, but did that mean she wanted it to happen again? He wasn't sure. He never was good at deciphering girls. She let out a soft laugh and looked back down at his still tingling lips.

"I'm sorry if that was inappropriate, I just I really like you and-" That was all Indigo needed to hear before pulling her back in, pressing their lips together. He swore he felt sparks going off in and around him. He pulled back first this time, smiling at her.

"Will you please be my girlfriend?" He asked, his smile covering his face from ear to ear. She nodded softly and then they kissed again and one thought lingered on his mind the entire time.

"I'm in love."
