I started getting ready for the concert Jay invited me too. Winter was spending the night with my parents so I didn't have to worry about her. She was a good sport about staying with her grandparents though.

I had trouble deciding what to wear though. I wanted something cute but not too out there. I didn't want to chose to something that I would normally wear but not something ratty. I ended up grabbing a white cropped hoodie, ripped jeans, fish nets, and tennis shoes. I wasn't looking to draw attention to myself by dressing too fancy. I wasn't looking to find someone there. I was just going to have fun, something I hadn't done in so long.

Jay picked me up shortly after I got done getting ready. It felt like it took forever to get to the concert. Traffic was absolutely terrible. It was made worse by the actual concert as well. I hadn't really heard of the artist we were seeing but Jay promised I was going to like him. She had gotten VIP tickets so we were going to be right up by the stage. The rockstar seating.

"What's his name again?" I asked as Jay and I headed to the main entrance.

"Post Malone," Jay replied. "You work at a bar. You had to have heard his music."

"Maybe," I replied. "But I never really pay attention to the music that's playing."

"True," Jay replied. "You're going to enjoy being here though."

I rolled my eyes. "Like you've said a million times."

"It's true!"

I snorted as we got to the concert hall. We made it all the way to the VIP section, though it felt like it took forever. There were a lot of people in the crowd. Jay and I stood in the crowd for what seemed like ages before the lights finally dimmed. Cheers spread through the crowd like wildfire. A figure came out and the spotlight went straight to him. I immediately recognized him as the man that came into the bar not long before. It was Austin or as he also went by, Post Malone.

He greeted the crowd and talked for a bit before he started preforming. He was pretty good if I did say so myself. It wasn't until a few songs in that he noticed me. I was a few rows back but I knew his gaze met mine and he recognized me. Austin smiled a little and didn't stop looking at me until he finished his song.

In a pause between songs, Austin started talking. "I met this girl the other day and she was one of the best singers I've ever met. I'm not going to say names or anything to protect her but she's a phenomenal singer and musician. I see something in her that I haven't seen in a long time. Maybe one day you can meet her and see what I see." The crowd started cheering and Austin smiled, his gaze turning to me. "No, she's not my girlfriend. In fact, I barely know her. But she's one in a million and a blessing to have met. Maybe I can have the chance to bring her up here one day so you can all meet her."

A ripple of chatter went through the crowd. I heard a few people around me wondering who it could be. They didn't know it was me, a random face in the crowd. One that the one and only Post Malone had an eye on.

Jay nudged me and leaned in. "That wouldn't happen to be you, would it?"

"It would."

"Why didn't you tell me the Post Malone came into your bar?"

"Because I didn't know it was him!" I exclaimed. "And besides, he introduced himself by his first name. I didn't know that it was him."

Jay looked back up at Austin. "I guess that makes sense. What are you going to do if he comes back into your bar?"

I shrugged. "I don't know. It's probably just a chance encounter."

"I don't think so," Jay disagreed. "Npt after what he just said."

"You think so?"

Jay nodded but didn't get the chance to answer as Austin started singing again. The concert went on without any hiccups and only a few more pauses between songs. In no time, the concert was over. Afterwards, any VIP members had the option to take pictures and talk with Austin. Most if not everyone that was in the VIP section went to do that. Jay and I were one of the last ones to go up to him. Austin immediately smiled when he saw me though he did a good job of hiding it around everybody. He pulled me in with an arm around my shoulders, a large smile plastered on both of our faces.

After the picture was taken, Austin leaned in to whisper, "I'll see you at the bar at some point this week, Mack. I promise."

I looked at him, bewildered, as Jay and I walked away to get our pictures. Two were printed out for the two of us. We left the building, chatting away. Jay wouldn't stop talking about how Austin was obviously talking about me when he was on stage. But I didn't know if he would actually show up. He was a very busy man with a busy schedule.

As soon as Jay and I were on our way to the car, she turned to me and said, "Do you really think he'll show up to the bar?"

I shrugged, shoving my hands into my pockets. "I don't know but we'll have to see. He's probably hella busy so there's a million different reasons as to why he couldn't."

"Don't be so down on yourself, Mack," Jay said. "He's clearly already attracted to you so there's no doubt he'll make time to swing by."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, okay."

"Don't be such a disbeliever, Mack," Jay said. "I have hope."

"At least one of us does."

Jay snickered as we headed for the car. It was already late and I was getting tired. I was used to late nights but the amount of people around me must have gotten to me. It was a fun night though. I got to see an amazing artist and had a good night out with Jay. Something I hadn't had in a long time.

As we drove home, I thought about Austin and what he had said. He specifically called me out in his concert in a very public way. A girl he had just met and barely knew. He must have been feeling some sort of way because no one does that. No one would say something like that about someone they don't know very well. But as I thought more, I didn't mind him saying that. He was an attractive man and seemed nice enough. I had to see if he made good on his promise and came into the bar though. He had some explaining to do.
