We arrived in Berlin, Germany by plane and were driven to the hotel. I yawned and fell into the bed, sighing heavily. Austin took care of the bags before getting in the bed with me. We didn't have anything big planned for the rest of the day besides going out to dinner. We were both tired and had been doing a lot while on the trip. I was ready to get back to home with my daughter but I was also happy that I was on the trip with my lovely husband.
"What do you want to do for dinner?" Austin asked. "Do you want to order in or go out? I know we're both tired."
"We can go out but bring the food back," I replied. "Because I don't think that I can be around people right now."
Austin sighed. "I get it. I don't think that I can either."
I rubbed my face. "I know we're having a good time and it's fun travelling but it's tiring. We're doing a lot while out."
Austin rolled over to face me, draping an arm over me. "I love it though, spending this much time with you. I'm glad I married you."
"Me too," I said. "We'll probably travel a lot with you being on tour and all that."
"I'll even try to bring Winter with us when we can," Austin said. "We'll have to see about that. You know how I like to destress after a show though?"
I playfully glared at him. "Probably what you've been doing this entire trip."
Austin leaned close and kissed my neck. "Because it's our honeymoon and I love you. I want to have kids with you."
I laughed as he crawled on top of me. "You've made sure of that, Mister I don't pull out."
Austin ran his hands under my shirt. "Guilty as charged."
I softly pushed him off. "I'm hungry and tired. We can get to that tomorrow."
Austin got off of me and got up, grabbing his shoes to put on. "Let's go before we fall asleep."
I got up and put my shoes on too, following Austin out of the door. I tucked my arm into Austin's as we went to find a nearby restaurant. We found a quaint little place and got seated. As we ate, we quietly talked. There weren't that many people in the restaurant, which was good. We were back at the hotel by eight pm and were in bed by nine pm. I was out like a light in a matter of minutes.
I woke up earlier in the morning than I would have liked. Austin was still asleep and I got out of bed as quietly as I could. I felt a bit nauseous but I pushed it down. I got ready before going out to find somewhere to get coffee. I knew enough German to get by. I was able to order coffees for us and returned back to the hotel to find Austin awake.
"Good morning, baby," I greeted. "How are you feeling?"
"Just waking up," Austin replied. "You got us coffee."
I handed him his cup. "I did. I thought you might like it."
"Thanks." He rubbed his face tiredly. "I love you."
I kissed his cheek as I sat down. "I love you too. What do you want to do today?"
Austin shrugged. "We can go to some of the shops. I'd like to get some things for Winter. I'd like to get some food while out to."
"Sounds like a good idea," I said. "We can take it slow this morning if you want. I'm feeling a bit nauseous so I'm up for taking it slow."
Austin looked at me with raised eyebrows. "Do you think it is what I think it is?"
I took a sip of my drink. "What do you think it is?"
"Are you pregnant?" Austin asked.
I almost snorted. "It's almost too early to tell. I haven't even taken a test."
"When we get back, you should test to see," Austin said. "I'm going to be so excited if you are pregnant."
"It'll be quick after our wedding," I said.
"I'll still be excited." Austin wrapped an arm around me. "I've always wanted kids."
I kissed his cheek. "I'm excited too. When we get back, I'll take a test."
We hung out at the hotel for an hour or so before going out to the shops. We walked around the city center, hand in hand. We found a couple shops and found a few gifts for Winter. We stopped at a little restaurant to eat and take a rest from walking around. There weren't as many people out as I had thought there would be. It was also a weekday so I had assumed that a lot of people were at work.
"How do you think Winter's enjoying her new leg?" Austin asked.
"I don't know," I said. "I hope she's liking it. We can give her a call. I'm sure that she'll like to see Berlin."
Austin pulled out his phone to give Mom a videocall. She picked up after a few rings and greeted us with a big smile. After talking for a few minutes, she called Winter into the room to talk to us. We left the restaurant as to not cause a disturbance to the other people. Winter was so excited to see part of the city and to hear about our trip. She was also so excited to know we were coming back within a few days.
"How's the new leg doing?" I asked. "Does it hurt or is it uncomfortable?"
"I love it," Winter replied. "It only hurts if I'm on it for too long but I just take a break when I need to."
"That's good, honey," I said. "Just don't do too much, okay?"
"I won't," Winter said. "I like having the new leg. It's nice being able to walk around. Grandma and Grandpa took me to the park earlier today and I was able to actually run around! I can move on the playground so much easier now."
"That's good to hear," Austin said. "Have you been making friends?"
"Of course," Winter said. "I don't get weird looks because of my crutches and people can barely tell that I have a prosthetic if I wear pants."
"Just as long as it's not too uncomfortable and you're not hurting," I said. "We've got you a few things but we're going to surprise you when we get home."
Winter squealed. "I can't wait to see it! I've been counting down the days until I see you again."
"We have too," I said. "We're only going to be gone for a few more days. Are you having fun with Grandma and Grandpa?"
"So much fun," Winter replied. "I love spending time with them. But I miss you guys."
"We miss you too," Austin said.
We talked for a few more minutes before hanging up. Austin and I spent a majority of the day seeing the city. It was a great day but by the time we got back to the hotel, I was exhausted. I took a shower and climbed into bed. Austin got into bed with me after taking a shower.
We spent some time talking about our future and what his plans were after we got back from our honeymoon. Austin had an album coming out and he was working with several artists. He was going to hit the road running once we landed back home. It was about time I found a job as well. Austin made enough money that I didn't really need a job but I wasn't comfortable being a stay-at-home mom.
I even told Austin that as we talked. He didn't want me to stay at home. He encouraged me to find somewhere to work. There were a couple of bars that I could work at. I wasn't opposed to working at one again or possibly at a restaurant. I had never gotten a degree. The idea of going to school popped into my head but I wanted to think about it before talking to Austin about it. I didn't want to spring it on him when he already had a lot to think about.
