I brushed out my hair and put it into French braids, getting ready for the day. Winter had her first day at her new school and she was excited but nervous. She hadn't met any of the new kids and she didn't know how they'd react to her missing leg. But she was still happy to be going to school. We had actually found one with an amazing music program. It was a private school, which Austin was more than willing to pay for, but it was amazing. It had great programs for every subject but Winter was more interested in music. She would be able to practice as much as possible and succeed more at that school than at a public one. There was also more security at that school, in case a fan or stalker found out that Austin's daughter was attending school there.

We were also going dress shopping while Winter was at school. My mom, Katherine, and Anmol's mom, Kimeya, flew over to go with me. I didn't want to do it by myself and I couldn't imagine doing it with either one of my moms. They also got to spend time with their favorite granddaughter. They were quite happy that I was getting married and would not stop talking about it.

We dropped Winter off at school and went to a local wedding boutique. I walked around with the lady working there, who was showing me the dresses. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted to wear and she picked out a few options for me to try on. I put the different dresses and showed them to Kimeya and Mom.

Some of them felt weird or off so I didn't pick it. I eventually decided for an older, more antique looking dress. It was simple and cute. Kimeya and Mom agreed with me on how cute it was. As I twirled around in while looking in the mirror, I knew Austin would like it too. We had agreed on a smaller wedding of two hundred people. We hadn't talked much about it besides the amount of people and what style we were looking for. We were looking for a simple wedding with nothing flashy or over the top.

We bought the dress and went to look at cake. Austin couldn't join us because he was busy at the studio creating his new album. Despite that, he had told me what he wanted for the cake and we agreed on three different flavors and styles of cake. We agreed that we'd have a cake big enough for two hundred people and the wedding toppers were going to be guitars instead of the traditional bride and groom.

The small plates of cake testers were placed in front of us. It was lemon, chocolate, and strawberry. It was the three flavors Austin and I had agreed to try. Every flavor was delicious. Kimeya and Mom agreed so I texted Austin about how we liked all three. He replied in a few minutes, saying that we would have all three then. Austin was going all out and was willing to pay for everything. I wanted to pay for some of it because I felt it was unfair for Austin to pay for the entire wedding, even though he had more money.

After a long day of running around for the wedding, my moms and I returned back to the house. We sat on the couch, looking at venues. We hadn't decided on one and I wanted to wait until Austin came back to pick one. There were a few venues that I liked so I saved them and got up to get something to eat. Austin called as I finished making my snack.

I picked it up. "Hello?"

"Hey, baby," Austin asked. "How's the wedding planning going?"

"Pretty good," I replied. "We're looking at the venues now. I wanted to see what you thought before I decided."

"Sounds good," Austin said. "I'm sorry that I have to be gone during this all. I'd rather be there with you."

"I know but you're doing your job," I replied. "I'm okay with that. Just come home to me, okay?"

"I will always come home to you and my daughter," Austin said. "We'll look at those venues when I get back. I'll be leaving here at about six pm. Tell Winter I'm bringing her a present since it was her first day at her new school."

"What are you getting her?" I asked.

"Her favorite ice cream from her favorite parlor," Austin replied.

"Oh, she'd love that," I said. "I'm sure that would make her day much better. I'm sure she'll talk our ears off about her day. I'm picking her up at four because she's being shown the music program. She can talk someone's ear off when it comes to music."

"She's going to be one hell of a musician one day if I have anything to do with it," Austin said. "I'll try to make it home as soon as possible."

"I know you will," I said. "I'll see you soon, okay?"

"I'll see you soon, baby," I said. "I love you."

"I love you too."

I hung up and brought my food into the living room. I had to eat it rather quickly because I had to drive to the school to pick Winter up. Kimeya and my mom stayed at my house while I left. Winter was waiting outside, sitting on a bench in her school uniform and her backpack at her side.

When I pulled up, she started to get up and I got out to open the door for her. I barely got into the car before Winter was talking about her first day at school and how much she enjoyed the music program. She talked and talked the entire time we drove home.

When she stopped talking for a second, I finally was able to talk. "Hey, Winter, Austin said that he's getting you a present for your first day."

She gasped. "What? What's he getting me?"

I shrugged. "It's a secret. He said he was getting you something."

Winter squealed. "Oh my goodness! I can't wait! When is he getting home?"

I pulled into Austin's unnecessarily large driveway. "He said he'll be here at six."

"I hope so," Winter said as she unbuckled.

We got out and went inside. Kimeya and Mom were still in the living room, looking through wedding magazines. Winter and I disappeared into our separate rooms. I didn't feel like being around people at that time. I was in bed for about forty-five minutes before I got a text from Austin, saying that he was about fifteen minutes away. I laid in bed for a little longer before I got up to sit on the porch and wait for Austin. He pulled in and got up, holding a cup of ice cream and a big paper bag.

I got up and walked up to him, kissing him. "Hey, baby. How was your day?"

"It was good," Austin replied. "Can you help carry the rest of my stuff in?"

I grabbed the rest of his stuff and helped him inside. I called for Winter and she basically ran into the kitchen, where we were at.

"Dad!" Winter exclaimed. "I heard you got me a present."

Austin was hiding it behind his back. "I heard you liked this ice cream parlor and I was able to get you a little something."

Winter's face lit up. "You didn't!"

Austin took the ice cream out from behind his back. "I mean, unless you don't want this." He picked up the spoon like he was going to take a bite. "I'm more than willing to eat this."

Winter gasped. "No! Mom, Dad's taking my ice cream!"

Austin laughed, handing it over to her. "I'm just kidding. I got your favorite flavor too."

Winter started eating as she started talking about her day. Kimeya and Mom joined us in the kitchen to listen. As she was talking, I started making dinner with the help of Kimeya. It was halfway done by the time Winter was talking. Mom and Austin started setting the table and in a matter of minutes, we were eating as a big family.

At the end of dinner and the dishes were clean, we moved to the living room. Winter was looking at sheet music her music teacher had given to her. I was showing Austin the venues I liked as Mom and Kimeya gave their unsolicited advice. Austin and I decided on a nice, spacious venue. Winter wanted to see the pictures of it so we showed her on the computer. Winter wanted to be involved in the wedding in any way that she could. It was cute how much she wanted to be apart of it. She was already the flower girl but still wanted to help. I had the perfect daughter and the best fiancé.
