I woke up in the morning without Austin by my side. I sat up, looking around. He was kneeling on the floor by his suitcase, digging through to find clothes. He finally got up and took off his shirt. I was watching him get dressed, a little smile on my face.
He finally turned and saw me watching him. "Hey. How'd you sleep?"
I rubbed my face. "Good. What about you?"
"Well, since I was with you." Austin came over and kissed me good morning. "I love you."
I snorted. "Yeah, okay. What do you want for breakfast?"
"Whatever you make," Austin replied. "Are you going to start soon?"
I nodded, getting up. "Yeah. Can you see if Winter's awake?"
Austin nodded as I left the room. I went into the kitchen to start making food. Toast, scrambled eggs, and hash browns sounded good. I was halfway through making breakfast when Winter and Austin joined me. I made plates for Austin and Winter before making my own. We sat together at the table to eat.
Austin helped me clean up the kitchen while Winter went to her room to do homework. She only had a little bit left to do before school started at the end of the weekend.
As I was washing the dishes, Austin wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing my neck. "I love you, Mack."
I smiled. "I love you too. What do you want to do today? I don't work tonight."
"Take you out shopping if you'd like," Austin said. "I'd just like to do whatever you want."
"I'll have to think about what to do," I replied. "Shopping does sound nice but you'll bring attention."
Austin pulled away and I turned to him. He had a serious expression on his face as he looked at me.
"I was meaning to talk to you about that," Austin asked. "I don't know how you feel about being in the spotlight and all that. So tell me what you're feelings on that are."
"Let's move to the couch beforehand." When we got to the couch, I went into what I was expecting. "I don't want to be in the spotlight that much. I know what it does to people and I don't want to subject Winter to the constant media attention. But I still want to be with you."
"I understand that and will do the best to keep you and Winrer out of the limelight," Austin said. "Is it a privacy thing?"
"Yes," I replied. "I don't want to be chased by the paparazzi and I don't want Winter to be subjected to that at such a young age."
"That's understandable," Austin said. "How do you feel about posting each other on social media?"
"As long as my face isn't in the picture or my name isn't mentioned, I'm fine with it," I replied.
"Okay, I get that," Austin replied. "Can I make a post? You can look at it if you'd like."
I nodded and Austin started making a post on Instagram. It was a picture of me in bed without my face in view. Austin added the caption saying, 'My love.' He posted it with my permission and put his phone away. We sat there and talked about our expectations of our relationship, especially in terms of the limelight. I didn't want to have the media's attention but knew it was inevitable. I was dating a famous rapper. We were going to be seen out in public eventually. Austin already made a post and there was bound to be speculation about who he was with. There was most likely already speculation.
After a while, Winter came down to join us. She sat in my lap and we talked to her about Austin's fame. We talked about what to expect and what she wanted out of it. Winter was quite understanding and thought it was quite cool that Austin was famous. She wanted to tell her friends at school that the man her mother was dating a famous artist but we told her to wait for a bit before saying anything. It was also doubtful that the other eight-year-olds knew who Post Malone was.
After we talked, I made food for lunch. We had been talking for a couple of hours and I knew I was getting hungry. Austin was in the living room with Winter, talking about something I couldn't hear. About fifteen minutes later, I called them to eat. I gave them each a plate and sat with them at the table. Winter really seemed to enjoy Austin. She was all smiles and giggles with him. He even joked around with her and tried to make her laugh every couple of minutes. I really hoped that I would stay with him for a while because my baby girl liked him a lot.
After lunch, we went to the park again so that we weren't at the house all day. When we got there, Winter found some of her school friends there and went to play with them. Austin and I sat on a park bench that was in some shade. I kept an eye on Winter as we talked. Austin had sunglasses on but with all of the tattoos that he had, he was still recognizable. Luckily, no one had come up to us yet, though some younger people were glancing in our direction. Luckily, none of them came up to us.
After some time, Winter rejoined us and we started heading back to my place. Austin ordered food to be delivered once we got home. He spent the time we were waiting for the food playing with Winter. She was on Austin's back as he stomped around the living, both of them giggling and having the time of their lives. By watching them, I knew that Austin was going to be a very good man for my little girl to look up to. And I loved him very much for that.
