The day had gone fairly quickly.
Perhaps that was because I was sat in the tavern all day, making little to no conversation with anyone except Diluc from time to time.
Throughout the day, I managed to slowly drink all of the wine Kaeya had bought me, as I felt bad that he'd wasted his mora - so as the sun set, I was completely exhausted.
"What a long day..." Diluc sighed, clearing up all of the empty cups after everyone had left the tavern for the night. "Oh, by the way, did you use that mora to get something to eat this morning?"
I nodded.
"Yeah, Good Hunter was completely packed with people, surprisingly. Thanks, though. I appreciate it.." I replied, reaching into my pocket and handing the spare mora back to him."It's fine, you can keep it. I wouldn't need it for anything, anyway."
---
Around half an hour later, Diluc finished cleaning the tavern.I had my head rested on the bar and my eyes were closed. It was around 10PM at night, so we were both really tired.
"I'm done. Are you ready to head off, now?" He asked, grabbing his stuff.
I nodded and got off of my seat.
We started to walk back, though as we reached the gates, Diluc noticed there were still quite a few people at Good Hunter.
"Strange. There is never that many people..."
"I remember them saying something about a new waiter."
"Is that so? It seems they have fangirls, then."
I laughed and looked back once more, before turning around. It was not a long walk back to Diluc's house, though it could get a little awkward between us at times.
Suddenly, a massive breeze hit us, and the temperatures felt like they had immediately dropped to below freezing.I ignored it at first.
"Ah, it's gotten cold... here."
I turned to look at Diluc, who was holding out his jacket towards me.
"Won't you be cold, though? It's fine, really.." I tried to reassure him.
"You don't have to, but I am fine with the cold anyway. I don't want to risk you getting ill."
"Oh, yeah, sorry... that was kind of a stupid question."
I took his jacket and put it on, instantly feeling the warmth."Better? We'll be home soon, I'll make sure it's warm there as well."
I gave him a small smile and nodded.
What was going on? I thought I was scared of Diluc, but as I got to know him, I felt... comforted. It was such a strange feeling.
---
Soon enough, we arrived at his home.
By the time we had got in, it was nearly midnight anyway.
I took off my shoes and placed them against the wall.
Diluc was right, it was a lot warmer in his house. It was especially cosy."I think I'm going to head to bed, I'm really quite tired tonight." He yawned almost silently, eyes watering.
"Me too..." I said back, and took off his jacket.
I walked up the stairs and stepped into the spare room. I left the door ever so slightly."Night..."
"Goodnight." Diluc smiled, before he walked into his own room and closed the door.
-Diluc's POV-
As soon as I closed the door, I let out a sigh.Kaeya pissed me off all day, even though he was only there in the morning.
He kept glaring at me constantly while talking to Y/N."That bastard is planning something.." I whispered to myself. "I just need to find out what it is..."
I flopped into bed and closed my eyes, trying to fall asleep.
But all I could think about was blood, the winery, and Kaeya's pure immaturity.
It was stressing me the hell out; sleeping was my only temporary way out of it.
"Maybe tomorrow will be somewhat more relaxing." I thought to myself, before falling into a deep sleep.
