I sat next to Diluc and took the hot drink into my hands. The mug was warm, but not hot.

"Again, I am sorry you've been feeling upset. Remember that I care for you, and you matter." Diluc gave me a blanket and smiled a little.

My stomach kept feeling something weird, like when you go down a hill while in a vehicle. It was strange, but I was so happy somebody was there for me.

"Thank you..." I sipped the drink he made me. It was sweet yet almost burned my tongue, though the feeling of it calmed me down.

"It's quite alright, haha... anyway, I need to go and find treasure hoarders, or something. I'm sure you know the drill by now." Diluc stood up.

"Okay, but be back soon. It's better when you're around." I probably sounded clingy and desperate, but I didn't care.

He nodded.
"I'll see you in a moment. Don't hesitate to get anything you need."

I grabbed a few more blankets and sat beneath them, just after Diluc left.

My glance averted to the floor, and I pretty much zoned out.
I wanted to know more about Diluc.
Does he like being a vampire?
Does he ever feel lonely?

To be honest, I just wanted to hug him again. It looked like he needed one, after all. But that'd be awkward.

I also wondered how he felt about me.
Obviously we were good friends, but was he pretending?

Despite being a vampire, he was a good person. He cared for me, saved me, always checked up on me...
I didn't really want to admit it, but he was also very good-looking.

Long, red hair...
Crimson red eyes...
His voice was soothing and-

I snapped out of my trance and felt embarrassed at myself for thinking of something like that.
But I couldn't help it. It was true.

-Diluc's POV-
After I fed on some treasure hoarders I'd found, I decided to do something else, too.

I felt so bad that Y/N was upset, and I wanted to do something about it.
She mentioned that she found the teddy bear's head in her old home, so I decided to go back and see if I could find its body.

When I arrived there, I noticed some footprints leading to the door. It seemed, except from this morning, nobody had gone there for a long time.

I entered her house and was hit with a weird smell.
Since it was dried blood, it didn't smell bad to me - but it would to humans. I understood why she was sad about it. Her home had been destroyed, basically.

Broken glass lay all over the carpet, and the duvet was moved to the side.
I started by searching in some drawers for the teddy bear's body - nothing.

"Where could it be?" I thought, hoping that I could find it.

I got on to the floor and looked underneath a shelf.
There was lots of stuffing there.
Perhaps that was where Y/N found the bear's head?

I reached my arm underneath, though I couldn't see much. I moved my arm around and except lots of fluff, there was nothing there.

Until I felt something soft.

I pulled my arm back and realized that I had found it.
It had little buttons on it, but had no head attached.

"It'll probably need most of the stuffing, I'll grab it." I shoved the stuffing that was on the ground into the bear's body and went back home.
I'm not the best at sewing, but it was worth a try. I had the option to go to the winery and ask the maids to fix it if I needed to.

"Welcome back," Y/N called out.
I tried to hide the bear behind my back so she wouldn't see it just yet. I wanted it to be a surprise.

"Thank you. I'll be upstairs, I just have to quickly do something." I replied, before going upstairs.

I entered her room and spotted the bear's head just sitting there.
I picked it up and carefully brought it into my room.

"I hope this isn't too difficult..." I whispered to myself, before I started sewing the two pieces back together.

-My POV-
As soon as Diluc came back, he went upstairs.
I just assumed he had some work to do - but still, it was a little suspicious.

I brought the mug into the kitchen and cleaned it, so that he would not have to.

"Y/N?"

I heard Diluc call my name again and I went upstairs.

"Everything okay?" I called back, standing outside his door.

He opened it and smiled.
"I, uh, didn't want you to still be upset, so I..."
He had one arm behind his back.

My heart started racing.

I let out a gasp as he moved his arm, revealing the teddy bear that I thought was broken.
"You... fixed it? But... but how? I couldn't find its body...?"

I put my hand over my mouth in complete astonishment.

"I found it and sewed it back together. I hate seeing you down." Diluc handed me the bear and I gazed down at it.

"You... you're too nice..." I felt like I was going to cry again, but this time of happiness.
I held the bear in my inner arm and ran into Diluc, pulling him into another hug.

-Diluc's POV-
When Y/N hugged me again, that same feeling came back.
I wanted to hold her forever. I loved the feeling of being so close to someone; it was exhilarating.

My cheeks tinted pink, but I couldn't help it. It brought me so much joy to see how happy I made her.

I knew how it felt to get attached to something as a child. Losing it was the worst feeling, too. But I had changed that for her, and it made me feel so much better.
I understood that I had done a lot for her, and she was running out of words to thank me. But all I wanted was for her to feel safe.

It was such a strange feeling, and I wanted to understand it...
