In the early hours of the morning, I woke up to hear something that sounded like pacing.

Getting up, I left the room and knocked on Diluc's door lightly.

"Are you alright..?"

It took a moment, but he opened the door. He looked quite pale, and really tired.

"I'm... fine, you should go back to sleep. It's early."

"..Likewise" I started, yawning. "What are you doing up?"

"I just... forgot to do something yesterday, it's no big deal."

I stared at him, not believing the reason. I thought I shouldn't have cared, but I felt bad he wasn't getting any sleep.

"What was it?"

Diluc sighed.
"I forgot to... um, you know, find treasure hoarders..."

Realization hit me.
"Oh... that explains why you're looking a little pale... can't you go now?" I anxiously replied, my gaze immediately dropping to the ground.

"I would, but I feel bad leaving you here - and besides, I would not be able to see in the dark. I suppose I will have to wait until sunrise." Diluc replied, taking his hair out, about to go back to bed.

I thought to myself for a second.
"I guess... you can take some of my blood, if it will help you feel better. You look really ill, and I'd feel bad knowing that but still going back to bed..." My voice got quieter, as it was a little embarrassing to say.

He looked up at me.
"No, no, I do not want to hurt you... I do appreciate the offer, though. Really."

"You won't hurt me if you're careful, it's all right. Don't let yourself feel sick."

I rolled up my sleeve and nervously put my arm out.

Diluc stood up, it seemed like I had convinced him.
"Okay... but tell me if it hurts."

He took my arm and lightly bit on to it, not far from my wrist. It stung at first, but was bareable.
I could tell he was trying his hardest not to hurt me, which I appreciated a lot.

A minute or two later, he pulled away, blood smeared around his lips.

"Do you need a bandage or anything?" Diluc asked, wiping his face with his own wrist.

"I'll be fine," I started. "Are you feeling better now?"

He nodded, putting me at ease.

"Good, you should probably get some rest, then..."

I had no idea why I was caring for him. He was a vampire, and I was not.
But I knew I did not want to see him get ill for not taking care of himself, that's for sure.

"You too. Thank you, I would've been awake all night if it weren't for you."

"It's no problem. Goodnight, Diluc."

"Night.."

In the morning, we both woke up a little later than usual, but still decided to go the tavern for the day. It wasn't too bad there.

"Y/N, are you here all day?" A familiar voice chuckled.
Of course it was Kaeya, ready for his probably hourly intake of alcohol.

"Well, I've only been here three times. You've been here... I don't even know how many times." I replied, yawning.

"I suppose that's true... but what do you even do here, considering you don't drink?"

"Talk to idiotic calvary captains..." I mumbled, not intending for Kaeya to hear it.

He laughed quietly.
"Hmm? What did you do to your arm?" Kaeya asked, lifting his chin up slightly.

"How did you... know about that?"

"Your sleeve moved up a little, I didn't mean to sound weird. It looks quite sore, though. Mind if I take a closer look?"

I exchanged a glance with Diluc, but reluctantly nodded and lifted my sleeve.
"It's nothing serious, just... a scratch." I whispered, trying to make Kaeya drop it.

"It doesn't really look like a scratch to me, if I admit. But I hope it heals soon."

My heart dropped for a second as he glared at Diluc with what looked like either suspicion or annoyance.

"Anyway, did you hear about Good Hunter?" Kaeya quickly changed the subject, making the atmosphere even more tense.

"Um... I heard there's a new waiter, that's about it..."

He smirked at my response.
"Yeah, apparently orders have gotten higher since he was hired. Weird, right?"

I shrugged.
"Maybe people just like him."

"Perhaps. Though I just think he's there to socialize, rather than to do his job."
Kaeya sipped his drink, followed with a sigh.

"I don't know, I haven't been there for a while. It was just busy when I tried to go."

He lifted a brow.
"Is that so? It's been crowded ever since..."

"Kaeya, in the nicest possible way, I don't think there's anything weird about it. People just like the new waiter, that's it."

"Oh, so are you saying my detective skills are useless?" Kaeya laughed.

"Yeah." I replied quickly, leaning my head on my palm and closing my tired eyes.

Diluc coughed quietly to control his laughter, but Kaeya didn't try to hide it.

"Straight to the point, I like it. It's a shame you don't drink. I'd pay for yours  quite often." Kaeya started, before noticing my eyes were closed, though I was not asleep.

"Wow. Am I really that boring?" He sarcastically whispered.
