When I woke up in the morning, everything felt... strange.
Like time had slowed down... and I'd finally opened my eyes.

Diluc was awake. He seemed like he hadn't slept at all.
"Good morning, how are you?"

I looked at him in confusion.
"I feel... okay. Is that normal?"
To be honest, I did not feel much different than usual, other than the feeling of slowed time.

He grinned at me.
"Yes, no need to worry. Do you have any cravings yet?"

As soon as he mentioned it, I did.
I could practically taste blood; it seemed so much better than when I had it the night before. It was nothing like me, but all I wanted to do was shove my teeth into someone's neck and feel their blood drip down my face.

"Yep."
I replied, without any successful attempts to get that scenario out of my head. Diluc understood, which was relieving.

"I understand how you feel, it is nothing new to me. Do you want to go out now, or later? It's no trouble."

My eyes lit up at the opportunity.
"Let's go now. I-If you want to, that is..."

---

Once we arrived at a camp, I couldn't see anyone immediately, which was more frustrating than you could possibly imagine.
Diluc held my hand after noticing my annoyance.

"It's okay, they will be around here somewhere. Would you like me to do the attacking?"
I nodded. I was not very experienced in fighting, and either way, the blood was the only thing I wanted.

"Let's go and find them then, shall we?"
We walked further in to the camp - nobody was in sight.
I was getting more and more pissed by the second, as Diluc could probably tell by the grip I had on his hand.

"There they are."

I noticed a few thieves, digging through a treasure chest that they must have stolen.
Turns out the cravings had more control over me than I had over them, because I ran over to one and bit straight into his neck.

Even Diluc was not expecting that, but he continued to fight the others as planned.
I felt ecstatic mere seconds after his blood reached my tastebuds, and I simply could not stop.

"Y/N, look at me?"
He had already fought the others.
I glanced at him for a second, before looking away. He wanted to see the colour of my eyewhites - blood red, just like his were when he killed someone.

I finished feeding on him, and his lifeless body fell to the ground, completely drained of blood.
I stepped away from him, and towards Diluc.

"Do we... dispose of them now?"
I asked, wiping the blood off of my chin with my wrist.

He shook his head.
"There's no point - they'd be expected to be found dead in their camps. I have to say, though, I'm surprised you attacked them like that. You did well for your first time killing someone as a vampire."

"Yeah, I guess my emotions took over there. I'm okay now."

"Say, would you like to go to the tavern? I can teach you how to use your speed to get there."

"I think I already know how." I replied, with a smirk. "Race you there!~"
With that, I ran off to head to Angel's Share. The speed was incredible - extremely fast, but you can still see your surroundings perfectly.

I arrived behind the tavern so that nobody would see me. I couldn't see Diluc, so I just assumed that I had won.
However, he was already there.

"I think I might've won..." He grinned at me.

"Wha?-"

"I have many years on you, little one."
I glared at him, to which he just gave me that cocky grin.

"Little one?"
I folded my arms.

Diluc chuckled and nodded.
"Yes. Little one. You know, because you're a new vampire."

"Alright. Sure, whatever! Let's just head inside..."
I jokingly rolled my eyes as I heard his quiet laughing behind me.

---

"Oh? You seem... different."

Of course, there sat the oh so familiar cavalry captain. He wore that smug look, as per usual.

I sat down in my usual spot and sighed as he stared at me suspiciously.
"Can I help you?"

Kaeya laughed to himself.
"You're one of us now, aren't you? What a pleasant surprise."

"I can't tell whether you're being sarcastic or not."

Diluc eyed him as he pushed a drink towards me.
"No sarcasm. I apologized, remember?"

I folded my arms.
"What drink is that?"

He glanced down at it.
"Drink it. It helps with cravings."

"I don't have any."

Kaeya lifted a brow.
"Really?"

I sighed in defeat and sipped the drink. He wasn't lying - it actually did help.

"See? No sarcasm. Now, tell me, how do you feel being a vampire?"
