"Erick"
My body went numb as his eyes stayed connected with me. A big lump formed in my throat, fear of getting exposed spread in each cell of my body. Erick is their cousin. I couldn't digest this new information. Erick walked towards us with his eyes moving all over my face and my work clothes. They furrowed in confusion as he saw me wearing Villin's chef uniform. I felt all the pairs of eyes on me and that's when I closed my little ajar mouth and tried to mask my surprised face but it was too late as grey eyes had noticed everything before I could hide them.
"Erick," Isabella said excitedly, getting up from her seat and hugging him. She had a big grin on her face as she wiggled her eyes from Grace to Erick with the same excitement in them. She was trying to be a cupid for him and Grace. "I missed you so much," she said as she broke her hug with a huge grin still on her face.
"I missed you too, my baby cousin," he said with a genuinely happy smile on his face while pinching her cheek as he talked to her. I blinked my eyes as I was still in shock. The way he talked with Isabella. I never knew Erick had this side to him. I have been getting shocked on shocks and two shocks in one day were making my head spin. My heart was already running a thousand miles per second. And top of It grey eyes were still noticing all my expressions very keenly. I lifted the glass full of cold water and glued it to distract him but his eyes stayed trained on me.
God, I'm going to have a heart attack for sure.
"So did you like my surprise," Isabella asked with raised eyebrows as she looked at grace. My eyes moved to Grace who was now gone completely quiet and was holding her fork in a very tight grip which she was playing with a few minutes ago. Her always smiling face didn't show any emotion as her eyes made contact with a blue one. Erick's face went back to being cold. If I thought he gave me his coldest glare then he had just proved me wrong. Grace just nodded her head slightly with a forced faint smile on her face and looked away but Erick's eyes stayed glued on her. As if at any time he would freeze her with his blue eyes. The tension in the air was getting thick and suddenly I was more worried for Grace than me.
"How are you Erick," the head chef asked him as he stood up and gave him a manly hug. It was my first time witnessing the head chef hugging someone on his own.
"I'm doing great. How are you and how is the restaurant going" Erick asked with a smile on his face as he broke the hug.
"Got Internationally certified and things are going pretty good," the head chef said in a nonchalant voice as he moved his eyes on me when he said last words. I could sense the sarcasm in his words. Erick followed his gaze and I felt like running away. I looked away as I found blue and grey eyes on me. I was on the edge of my seat. If the situation goes out of my hand I'm running away from here to catch the first train to my hometown.
"Erick, join us," Isabella said in her pleading tone, making him look away from my face to her. Erick looked at his little cousin and nodded at her as she gave him puppy eyes. Erick walked and took a seat beside me, making my heart hammer. He has still not uttered anything to me and my heart was bursting thinking what will happen to me in the next moment. The head chef looked at him with furrowed eyes as he chose to sit beside me rather than him. Isabel found her cousin looking at me.
"I forgot to introduce you both. He is part of the chef team now this is," Isabel said with a grin on her face but before she could say my name Erick said it.
"Sage," he said my name with his blue eyes fixed on me, making everyone look at us in surprise. Even Grace who was trying to avoid him looks at us with the same expression on her face.
