Which said we are in trouble.

"What is going on behind my back" grandma said in her mad voice making the head chef move away from me. I immediately sat up after pushing him away from him. I sniffed a bit while looking at them. His mother came out of shock and instructed the maid to leave the trolley and go back to work. I wiped the remains of tears from the back of my hand.

"Why are you crying?" Grandma asked while walking in. She looked at the head chef with narrowed eyes.

"Did he do something to you?" she asked while still looking at her grandson with narrowed eyes. Before I could say anything a gasp left my mouth when I saw grandma pulling the head chef's ear.

"What did you do to the poor child," grandma asked him in a firm tone with a mad look still on her face.

"I did nothing grandma. Tell her," he said the last part while looking at me still trying to get her hand off his ear but she didn't let him go.

"Stop threatening her. If you did nothing to her then why is she crying? What are you even doing here in the first place?" Grandma asked while pulling him away from the bed. I was too stunned to speak. From the corner of my eyes, I saw his mother was not bothered by what was happening there. She was busy putting some food on the plate for me.

"Grandma, she is my wife," he said, trying to reason.

"Not yet. Didn't I tell you to stay away from her until you get married properly?" grandma asked in the same tone while looking at him.

"G--grandma head chef did nothing. I was crying because my ankle hurts" I said as soon as I got out of my shock. Listening to my words she let go of his ear and walked with a worried face not before glaring at her grandson for the last time. The head chef rubbed his red ear with his mad grey eyes fixed on me.

"Do you want me to call the doctor?" grandma asked worriedly while sitting beside me.

"No-no I will feel better once I take my medicine," I said nervously looking at how her personality changed. One second she was all mad at her grandson and now she was showing me her caring side.

"I will tell a maid to bring some water with healing Sal in it. I'm sure it will reduce the swelling and pain too" grandma said softly while rubbing my hand. I gave her a small nod.

"Sage" his mother called me. I looked at her. She gave me a plate full of food. It was too much for one person.

"You too sit with her and eat your dinner," his mother said to the head chef.

"So you do remember you have a son," he said grumpily and sat beside me still rubbing his ear. I stopped myself from laughing at his comment.

"Stop throwing tantrums," his mother said while handing him a plate. He sulked while eating his food.

"Mom, why don't you go and rest? I will ask the maid to bring some warm water with salt for her" his mother suggested while looking at grandma.

"If I go then who will keep an eye on him," grandma said while pointing her finger at him. He scoffed at her comment.

"Don't worry mom. Isabella is on her way from now onwards she is going to stay with us until her brother gets married. I will take care of it please you go and take some rest" his mother convinced grandma. In the end, she agreed.

"Put some food on his plate. I don't know how he manages to run a restaurant when he can't even eat his meals properly" grandma said while looking at him. Even though she was strict towards him she had her ways of showing love. After that, she left the room not before telling the head chef that she had her eyes on him. I again chewed my inner cheeks stopping myself from laughing.

"I will go and tell the maid," she said and walked out of the door as we ate our food silently. I didn't want her to go out. What if he shouts at me for not opening my mouth sooner? The tension in the air was thickening as we both didn't exchange a word after it. I kept eating my food silently. I felt his eyes on me but I didn't dare to look at him. I felt him moving a bit towards me making my heart beat fast. I kept chewing on my food. He leaned and took a glass of water from beside me with his face just a few inches away from me. I moved back a little with wide eyes. He could have asked me. A small smirk formed on the corner of his lip looking at my reaction. He was toying with me.

"Hello, guys. Oh, I didn't see anything" Isabella walked in through the open door but turned around when she saw how close the head chef's face was. The head chef moved away from me while clearing his throat. I cleared my throat too.

"We were doing nothing," he said grumpily while standing up from bed. She turned around smiling mischievously at him which said she doesn't believe him. I kept my plate aside and I was done eating my food. Soon his mother walked in with the maid. I put my feet in warm water and it felt like pure bliss. Isabella was asking me how I sprained my ankle.

"Mom, ask some maid to clean my room. I'm staying here for today" my mind became alert when I heard those words. I looked at him and he was already looking at me, making me look away. I swallowed hard looking at the dangerous look on his face. Why does he suddenly want to stay here? Saying that he walked out of the room. As soon as he walked out my cell phone beeped. I had received a message from him. My eyes widened when I read that message.

Tonight you have to compensate me for today.
