14. Karthik aur Naira

"What is your problem? Can't I have one evening to myself?"

"Kya karu, tumne phasa liya hai mujhe, apni zeherili ankhon se."

Aarohi rolled her eyes, frustrated on seeing Neil everywhere. All she wanted from this night was a good spread, a solo dining experience and take a break from this wedding drama. She already had a long tiring day and she had lied to Akshara to get out of the family dinner and had walked five minutes away from the Hotel so that she could have some time for herself.

But Neil was now infuriating her by his presence.

"You know what, I'll leave."

"Chipkali," Neil got up instead, his intention was not to frustrate the girl beyond which he usually did. "Chill, you wanted to eat alone right, you dine alone. And I did not know you were here, I just came here because bhai ne kaha ki yaha ke chinese noodles kaafi tasty hai." He offered her a seat and Aarohi sat back, her glaring softened and she placed her arms on the table.

"Listen, tum baith sakte ho,"

"It is okay," Neil replied with a smile, "I honestly sat here because I was happy to see a familiar face but I understand, I'll find a place somewhere else."

"Dekho abh zyaada bhaav mat khao," Aarohi felt bad for lashing out on him for no reason, and he did not seem the clingy type to her. His soft eyes were always representative of his honesty. "and anyway, resto full hai, tumhe wait karna hoga, isse aacha tum yahi baith jao. But no conversations?"

Shrugging, Neil sat down, agreeing to the no conversation dinner and both of them ordered what they wanted, Neil excited for the noodles and Aarohi, tired after the day's happenings. And more than that, she had to spend an entire day indoors tomorrow and with Neil, the man who she did not like staying with. He had a certain pull that was making her go insane and unfortunately, here she was, dining with Neil, the man she wanted some time away from.

"Here is your noddle soup sir, and a beer," The waiter served Neil and Aarohi chuckled looking at how Neil was rubbing his hands as he smelled the food. "And Ma'am, here is your wine and caesar salad and potato fries with mayo."

"Argh, fries ke saath mayonnaise?" Neil made a face, judging Aarohi's choice of dipping and the latter shrugged. "Chipkali, fries ketchup ke saath better lagta hai."

"For you, for me, I like it with mayo."

"Well, good thing is that we don't have to share food. Because main woh khaunga nahi aur noodles main share nahi karne waala."

"Suit yourself."

They then spend the time silently, eating their respective food and savoring their hunger with the tasty food.

"Neil, tumse kuch puch sakti hu?" Aarohi asked and regretted it instantly because Neil's mouth was full of the noodles and he looked at her, chowing the food down. "Tum kha lo,"

"Nahi nahi," He said, mouth full, his words were a little difficult to comprehend, "batao."

"Woh... ye noodles itne acche hai ya tum bhukkad ho?" She enquired, noticing how he was enjoying his meal ardently.

"Taste karo," Neil forwarded the fork rolled with noodles towards the curious girl, "Tumhare salad se toh kaafi accha hoga."

Aarohi leaned in and took a bite of the noodles which not only smelled tasty, it truly was tasty and Neil waited for her to compliment it. "Theek hai," She wiped her lips with the tissue, "alright."

"THEEK HAI?" Neil gasped dramatically, garnering attention from the nearby guests, "Alright? Yaar, chipkali, please, jhoot mat bolo. This is much better than your stupid salad."
