Bonus (2E) Happy Birthday Aaru - last part

Aarohi Goenka was surprised when she entered her cabin.

But not in a good way.

"Ye sab kya hai?" 

Abhimanyu who was behind Aarohi had his mouth opened ajar, shocked and horrified at the state of what was once the nicest room in the hospital. 

Aarohi looked at the mess of a room, half blown balloons, poppers and streamer dust on the floor, a huge cake that lay smashed on the cushioned sofa and two adults with three kids covered in what seemed like paint.  

Akshara and Neil stood from their fallen places, covered in cake and in the paper sparkles. Neil raised the banner upside down on which 'Happy Birthday' was written and the twins looked at the birthday girl, unsure what was to be said.

"Surprise?" Akshara and Neil said rather softly, both of them were so messy that it was difficult for Aarohi to comprehend what happened.

"EXPLAIN!" Aarohi walked amidst the chaos to pick Karthik who was buried with the heavy cake on the sofa. She wiped the cream off the little boy's face and wiped the paint off the twins' face. "What the hell is this?" 

Neil and Akshara looked at each other, embarrassed and disappointed. 

"You guys made me stall Aarohi for hours for this?" Abhimanyu shook his head, looking at the messy state of the cabin. "I did so much and there is not even a piece of cake?" 

To that Karthik raised his hands that held a blob of cake that he saved from the fall towards Abhimanyu who in turn glared at the kid. 

"Well, we planned everything to the T but then..."

Neil and Akshara had the best birthday surprise planned for Aarohi and after Abhimanyu had taken her away from the hallway, they could resume with it. Although it was a simple cake cutting affair, Akshara had baked the cake herself and tried to make it as similar to the one their late mother did. Neil and the kids had decorated the cabin with balloons and streamers, while the twins carried the little cups of paint to add their thumbprints to the art Karthik had made.

The little boy wanted to surprise Aarohi with his art and had used thumb painting technique to draw intricate pattern of flowers. Since he was still left to do the finishing touches, he asked the rest of them if they wanted to add their little thumbprints on his gift which they readily agreed.

They messaged Abhimanyu to get Aarohi back and Neil readied the camera, while Akshara brought in the cake once the decor was set. 

But everything went haywire after that.

Kaira who was blowing a balloon with the little hand pump, laughed at Abhir who had paint on his nose and that led to the balloon slipping from her hands and landed straight on Akshara's face. The sudden jolt of rubber and the popper that rolled on the floor caused her to lose her balance and three things happened soon after.

1. The cake slipped from her hand

2. To save the cake, Karthik let go of the paint box that fell on Kaira

3. Neil's decorated streamers fell down almost immediately when Kaira shook her hands hastily, resulting in a mess of a things. 

Karthik tried his best to save the cake but he got buried under it, Kaira's paint mishap caused the popper in Abhir's hand to burst exactly as Neil sighed watching the entire clownery unfold. Before they could do anything, Aarohi and Abhimanyu entered and needless to say, it did not turn out well.
