20. wrong ship
"And one and two and three, and turn, and swing and stop and turn and up... NO..."
Akshara and Abhimanyu separated, they had once again goofed up in the swirling step and had landed on each other's feet, and Nishta groaned, along with Shefali who were the choreographers for the dance.
"Can't we change the step?" Abhimanyu asked, nervously rubbing his hand over his hair, "I cannot remember this."
"Abhi it is really simple," Shefali argued, and Nishta nodded. "If you want to have a killer performance on your sangeet you better practice well."
Akshara shrugged when Abhimanyu looked at her for help, she was not the one with the hard step anyways, it was Abhi who had to pick her up and swirl. "But there is time for sangeet right?" Abhimanyu further argued, "kal engagement hai, why not focus on practicing how to exchange rings..."
When Neil and Aarohi sniggered on that from the corner of the room, Shefali and Nishta glared at the duo and they straightened up, hiding their smiles behind their coffee mugs. "And kal se saare guests aane waale, plus so many traditions and rituals to follow, there is not going to be much time." Shefali instructed the duo, "and Abhi, you have to do this well, yaar tum dono star couple ho and stars ko performance bhi dhaasu deni padti hai..."
"Bhabhi," Neil added from behind her, "aap journalist ho, par iska ye matlab nahi ki bhai koi superstar hai, dekho inhe," Neil now got up from the bed and stood in between the duo, "ye abh buddhe ho chuke hai, inse na ho payega." That earned chuckles from everywhere, and Akshara covered her mouth as she laughed, but Abhimanyu wrapped his hand around Neil's neck, strangling him and the latter screamed for help.
Aarohi sat behind on the bed, they were all gathered in Abhimanyu's room, his room was spacious where they could start their dance rehearsals and although there was time for the sangeet, Shefali was right, the guests were about to pour in from the next day and there would not be much time.
Aarohi felt better than yesterday, after speaking to Neil, she felt like a feather, honestly. A lot lighter and she could almost touch the clouds, a feeling she never encountered before.
She looked at Akshara who was now hand in hand with Abhimanyu, dancing on her favourite song for the sangeet and she was once again smiling and laughing and looked better and if her sister was better, than she was too. Then she looked at Abhimanyu, the surgeon who was to now dance on some tunes, and although dance was not his genre, he really tried being a good sport. Her eyes then glanced at Neil, the guy who held his neck and frowned at his brother but nevertheless, really looked happy, and jovial.
Taking a sip of the herbal tea, Aarohi leaned back, things were better than yesterday and that was what mattered.
The door opened with a knock, and in came Kairav, "Akshu, Abhi," He looked at the dancing duo, "Harsh sir and Manjari aunty needs you in the guest lounge," He said, waving at the girls, "chalo."
"Thank you!" Abhimanyu yelled in delight and left with Akshara, as Shefali and Nishta shook their heads in unison, sitting back while Neil confronted his sisters.
"Hum sab sangeet pe dance kar rahe hai right?" He asked, sitting on the small table, "ladke vs lakdi wale kare?"
They all now looked at Aarohi, who shook her head, "No ways, Kairav bhaiya dance kar nahi sakte, Tara bhabhi is pregnant and I won't dance." They all sighed audibly aloud, Nishta even pouted.
"But Aaru dii," Nishta tilted her head, "atleast you should dance, it is your sisters' wedding after all!"
"Haan, Aarohi," Shefali said, shrugging, "you should, I mean, after all shaadi ka time hai. Mazze karo thoda..."
