2. khandala chale gi?
"BHAI..."
It had not even been a minute since she reached the hotel's entrance and Neil had stepped out of the car to embrace his brother and the entire family who stood to welcome the late-comer. Aarohi looked at the gathering, all of the Birlas' from the oldest Birla, Dr. Anand to the youngest, little Nishta, all of them now surrounding Neil, asking him, hugging him and overall happy to have him there.
But most happiest of the lot was Dr. Abhimanyu, who literally picked Neil up and hugged him, and Neil looked happier too.
"Bhai ke bacche," Abhimanyu now held his ear, making Neil yelp in pain. "Abh jaake tujhe fursat mili? Huh?"
"Maa!" Neil asked for help, looking at Manjari, their mother who separated the duo and hugged her son, teary eyed. "Kaisi ho?" He wiped her tears, "Aur party chalu hui ki nahi!"
"Abh tu aa gaya na," Abhi smiled, holding Neil's cheeks in his palms, "abh hogi party!"
Aarohi felt a tug at her heart at their sweet reunion, this was all really sweet. She waved at Abhi who now walked towards the car, and glared at Neil when he waved back. She opened the trunk for them to get a hold of the bags.
"Flight kaisi thi?" Abhi asked aloud, as they neared, the rest of the family made their way inside. "And Aarohi ko thank you bola?" Abhi asked Neil.
"Haan, par isse thank you hazam kaha hota hai."
Aarohi gasped, "kab bola thank you?"
"Tune theek se baat kaha ki, chipkali!"
Before Aarohi could pounce on Neil, Abhimanyu stood in between them, "Neil, mind it." He said, taking Aarohi's side, "saali hai meri, so please."
Now it was Neil's turn to gasp and Aarohi raised her brows, as she stood besides Abhimanyu, both of them smirking and sharing a set of high-fives. "Wow, shaadi hui nahi, aur aapne sasural walo ko party pehle chun li." Neil nodded, feigning his disapproval. "But, bhai, I thought you were a cardiologist not a VET," Neil said, confusing both Aarohi and Abhimanyu.
"VET?" Abhi asked.
"Haan, ye chipkali ke saath jo team banayi hai."
To that even Abhi could not resist laughing but held it back when Aarohi glared at him, "Sun.."
"Suna," Neil sang the word, and Aarohi groaned.
"Forget it."
With that she handed the car keys to the valet and stomped inside the hotel, "khandala chale gi?" Neil yelled from behind, which helped accelerate Aarohi's steps towards the hotel more and Abhi pulled his ears.
"It has not even been five minutes and you are already troubling her?"
"Wow, Aarohi ke Jiju, kabhi apne bhai ki side bhi lo!"
"Hamesha tere side hu." Abhi said and Neil smiled, hugging his brother and while Abhi felt finally happy to have his little brother with him, Neil felt like he was home again. "I missed you, Neil, but I am so proud of everything you have done!" Abhi broke the hug, teary eyed as he looked at his all grown brother, now not just independent, but a budding businessman.
"And I happy to finally see you get married to my most favourite person in this world," Neil smiled, rubbing his hands in delight as the hotel staff carried his bags inside. "Hai kaha meri hone wali bhabhi? Unko bhi toh pata chale, unka one and only devar aa chuka hai." Laughing and hands around each other's shoulders, they walked inside, Neil smiling at the two weeks of fun that lay ahead.
Meanwhile, Aarohi groaned, sitting on the sofa of the main room, tired of being out in the sun for an idiotic person and before she could gulp the cool mocktail, someone shut her eyes and the soft smell of flowers hit her nostrils making her ease, "Akshu!"
"Sahi jawaab," Akshara smiled, plopping on Aarohi's lap and sitting sideways, and after Aarohi let Akshara lay her head on the armrest, she took a sip of the much needed drink. "I did not go to the spa because you were not there. Kaha thi yaar?"
"Mat puch," Aarohi yawned, as she forwarded the straw for Akshara to drink and she did, "ek idiot ko receive karne padha."
Akshara who was sipping the juice, signaled via her head, asking who it was.
"wahi," Aarohi rolled her eyes, relaxing her head on the head-rest and although Akshara was completely laying on her lap, she was hardly an issue of discomfort for the former. Many a times they often would sit like this, Akshara loved physical intimacies and while Aarohi may hate them, she loved her sister a little too much to deny. "tera pyaara devar."
The moment Aarohi mentioned Neil, Akshara spit the drink out which resulted in half of it falling on her, the other on Aarohi and the girls sat up. "Sorry, but really!" Akshara said, rather squealed in delight, "Neil aagaya!"
Aarohi groaned aloud, "why are everyone so happy with that idiot." She got off and dusted her top, but the stain were more stubborn than she was. "Neil hai, Siddharth Malhotra nahi. Chill."
To that Akshara giggled, looking at her sister, "Yea, I completely forgot how much you two fought." She chuckled aloud, Aarohi frowned at her sister, thinking she might be insane already.
"What is so funny about it?"
Akshara shrugged, "You tell me," She winked, "I thought these two weeks for the wedding would be too overwhelming for me, but now that I have you and Neil, mera personal entertainment, I think I'll be fine."
"Akshu tu na..." Aarohi slammed the pillow from besides on Akshara's face and the rest of the drink fell on her clothes, both of them looking at the dripping liquid and then at each other. "Galti se hua tha..."
"Galti..." Akshara reached out for another pillow as Aarohi ran around the room, apologising aloud but Akshara was not going to budge. "Rukh, Aaru ki bacchi."
"Sorry na," Aarohi said standing at the opposite end of her sister, her pillow as her shield. "Akshu, dekh lag jayegi..."
But Akshara aimed the pillow at Aarohi's head, only for it to fall towards the right and with it, the glass vase fell and boke in pieces, just besides Aarohi.
"Tu theek hai?" Akshara asked, concerned and anxious, but Aarohi smiled, nodding and they shared a hug. "Thank goodness."
"Ye sab kya hai!"
Both girls gulped when they heard their Bade Papa who had now witnessed their childish incident, "Akshara, please, shaadi hai tumhari. Kuch lag sakta hai beta," He said, although sternly yet concerned for his eldest daughter and she held her ears. He then turned towards Aarohi, "and you, tum toh sabse samjhdaar ho na, I don't expect this from you, Aaru." He said, making Aarohi gulp, "I expect you to be responsible of the lot. Disappointed." He scolded her and Aarohi sighed.
"Sorry Bade Papa."
Manish let down his guard, and shook his head with a smile, "anyway, chalo, ready hona hai. we have the evening tea with the Birlas." He said, chirpily and the girls nodded. "Aur Akshu, you sure ki kuch lagi nahi na beta?" He asked again but Akshara shook her head, with a cute smile. "Alright, then, see you two,"
And while Akshara called the staff helpers for the broken pieces, Aarohi looked at the shattered glass and a drop of blood that oozed from her arm. It was just a minor glass piece that hit her from the vase, but she did not want Akshara to be worried about it knowing how anxious that girl would get for her.
But besides her, no one really worried for her.
This wedding was going to be tough on her. Really tough.
