45. Goodbye Your Highness (2)

May it please to Your Highness,

Aarohi Goenka

What in the world am I doing writing this letter to you? I've no clue. And after two years post the wedding, this may come off as a shock to you.

But, if I don't tell you, I'm not going to be at peace. Shaadi ke din bina goodbye kiya chala gaya, ye baat aaj tak satati hai mujhe. So you can see, two years worth of me still being entangled about you and your mess. More like our mess, but, in the world of tech savy devices, and me being a CEO of a literal gaming company, I still chose a letter to write to you.

Why? Cause you're still the Queen, I suppose, I know you are. But more than that, I'm embarassed to have a digital copy of this letter saved, so writing it is better so you can read and tear it apart and there's no trace about it.

Coming back to the purpose of writing this letter, what do I say? Other than the fact that, I'm still hung over you, ever since our fallout from bhai's wedding. And me leaving the ceremony without a conversation, without a single glance, without a goodbye.

You deserved a goodbye. You really did and it must've hurt you to see me gone, just like that, with no traces left behind.

I'm sorry Aarohi, I was too hurt and too blind by being an one sided lover and didn't take your feelings into consideration. I'm really sorry and hence, I'm writing a formal apology letter to you, trying to make up for that things I couldn't say when I left. Also, feel free to not read ahead, this is simply because I need to write this down for my own sanity.

Aarohi paused, things after this got a little too emotional even for her. She sighed, looking at her husband who was listening intently and he tilted his head with a smile. "You don't have to read ahead," He assured her, "I know how embarassed you get when you're going to cry."

"I don't get embarassed when I cry."

He laughed, "please, Aaru, we've been married for two years now, known each other since what, four? Mujhse toh jhoot mat bol."

"You know what, I'm going to read this further," She glared at him, knowing how easily he could influence her to do things against her will but still couldn't help but give in and he smiled, knowing how to tread with her buttons. "And I'm not going to cry and even if I do, I'm not going to be embarassed, you'll see."

"The first thing I'd say if we did have a conversation, would be something random, something to tease you, so your mood elevates from being sad to being irritated and angry, the nose flaring of yours is always my favourite. I'd tease you calling you chipkali again, you'd get offended still and call me chamgadar, and I'd melt in a puddle seeing you smirk like that.

Plus the lehenga, ufff, I died that day when I saw you in that lehenga, the shine, the aura, the way you held it, the way it complimented your curves, your left hair and your pretty beautiful big eyes. I swear, I almost cancelled my tickets to just wanting to gawk at you for the rest of the time. You really looked beautiful, after bhabhi of course and no wonder you managed to steal my heart.

Next thing we'd do would be to stare at each other, not awkwardly, not comfortable either, just stare with a longing. You'd want things to be different, I'd want things to be different but reality was the same and hence we'd avert our gaze at the slightest distraction and then while you'd lower your gaze, I'd rub the back of my neck, nervous and upset.
