22. walking volcano
"Aarey, jaldi haath chalao," Neil screamed at the decorators, "I cannot believe that is it almost time for the engagement ceremony and here you guys are fixing the backdrop. Hadd hoti hai."
"Sorry woh baccho ne gira diya, wapas... hum jaldi kar dete hai."
Neil shook his head, and he instructed the kids to play down the stage, he then took a turn around the pretty lit hall and then towards the food counter, looking at the tasty treats. He smelled the amazing appetizers and smiled, "khana toh aacha lag raha hai, ek pani-puri taste karwa do." He asked taking the paper plate from the counter.
"Ye dekho, I told him to overlook the decorations," Manjari came out of nowhere and held Neil's ear, twisting it, "and he is overlooking the food." Mahima who stood beside Manjari now chuckled, hitting Neil playfully on his head. "What is this Neil!"
"Maa, I swear I checked everything, and then khane ko bhi toh test karna chahiye..." On Neil's loud yelling, Manjari left his ear and Neil tasted the pani-puri, "This is so great...aah..."
Both the Birla sisters shook their head in unison, "did you check on your brother?" Manjari asked Neil who was eating the third pani-puri, cheeks full of the delicious treat. "Neil?"
"Parth bhai hai, chillax."
"Aur haan, you have the ring, do not forget." Mahima instructed Neil who touched his sherwani's pocket, assuring them and the women left to check on the party arrangements.
"Bhaiya, kya pani-puri hai," Neil complimented the staff, "thoda theeka paani bhi daalna," He smelled the spicy water and was about to drink it from the paper plate when he saw a glistening and furious girl rush out of the venue.
"Ye chipkali kaha jaa rahi hai?" He spoke aloud to himself, tilting his head as he saw Aarohi head towards the back lane of the Hotel. "Gusse mein bhi lag rahi hai," He thought and looked at the spicy water and then at the faint figure of Aarohi walking away, "isse aacha toh main iss paani se nahalu, walking volcano se toh ye hi accha hai."
There Aarohi was done with this guy, who had some nerve to come all the way to Mumbai to disrupt her sister's wedding and her mood, she was all ready for the engagement, dressed in a rose gold lehenga with silver shimmer dupatta, hair left open and make-up all done. But the smile she had on her face when she had dressed Akshara, who looked really gorgeous in her attire, vanished when she got another message from Aditya Sinha.
"What is your problem?" Aarohi was now at the backyard of the Hotel, the engagement venue was down to the left, and she was far off. "And how dare you come here and threaten me? Aditya, meri behen ki shaadi hai, you just cannot come here."
"Haan, toh mere calls aur texts ke seede jawab diye hote toh ye nahi hota."
"Why should I?" Aarohi looked around, hoping to see no guests wander off to this side of the Hotel, "whatever we had between us is over. Kyu samaj nahi sakte tum? Itne desperate kyu ho tum."
The words which Aarohi were true, but to a man of no dignity, those were insults and he gritted his teeth, holding her wrist only for the purpose of imprinting his toxic manliness on it. "Listen, you cannot just get off the hook this way,"
"Aditya mera hath chodo," She answered, angry but a little worried because if she created a scene here, her family would not like it. "Leave my hand," She gritted her teeth, hiding the pain the man in front of him was giving her, "Aditya,"
"Don't forget Aarohi, humara affair tumne start kiya tha aur aise hi tum..."
"Aise hi kya?" She tried getting out of his hold, "I don't love you, I don't. Why cannot you get it. And Aditya you have a family, what is wrong with you!"
