Chapter 24: Tears

Chapter 24:

Nash's POV:

"Hayes, did you really just kiss her? What is wrong with you man?" I said to Hayes, almost yelling.

"I don't know. I- I was.."

"No, there's no I don't knows! You just cheated on Lacey." I said as he groaned.

"She's the best thing that has ever happened to me dude." He said as I gave him a look.

"Yeah, so you have to tell her. Soon." I said as he sat down on the carpeted floor.

"I don't wanna lose her Nash." He said. I wanted to feel bad, but he knew what he was doing, and he knew the consequences.

"She's been through a lot already. You better man up and tell her before someone else does." I said, turning around to walk away. I stopped myself for a second.

"By the way, she's expecting you to call her." I said before walking away.

Hayes' POV:

I can't believe I just kissed that girl. I didn't even like her. What is wrong with me? If this is hard for me, I can't even imagine how hard it will be on Lacey. Maybe I shouldn't tell her. No, Hayes, stop. It'll hurt her more if she finds out later. I didn't feel the tears going down my cheeks until one fell on my lap.

"Man up Hayes." I whisphered to myself as I took my phone out and dialled the number. Her number.

"Hayes!" She said excited to hear from me. I couldn't believe what I was about to do.

"Um, uh, hey Lace." I said, hesitant.

"What's wrong?" She said, hearing the pain in my voice.

"Lacey.. I- I kissed a girl, but let me expl-"

"No Hayes, I really like you and I thought you felt the same!" She said over the phone, yelling and crying.

"I do." I said quietly after a short pause.

"No, you obviously don't and you probably never have. What.. was I some pitty date, did you feel bad for me or something??!" She said, hiccuping throughout. I was crying at this point.

"I'm sor-" I managed to say before she hung up.

Lacey's POV:

I sat on my bed, not knowing what to feel. I had cried for a few hours now, I guess my tear ducts dried up. I just sat there, no emotion whatsoever. My door opened and I looked to see my two best friends for the second time today.

"Hey babe. Nash told me what happened are you okay?" Gabbi said, as they both came and hugged me.

"No." I said, feeling tears well up again.

"Well, if it makes you feel any better, Hayes is an asshole." She said as I smiled.

"Thanks guys, but that really doesn't help." I said, in between crying and laughing.

"You can't let him make you feel this way it isn't fair, now let's go live our lives." Addison said as I nodded, getting up for the first time in hours.

"Come on, let's get you cleaned up, we are sleeping over today and we're having movie night downstairs so you better be ready when we're done setting up.

"Okay." I said, smiling. They could really help me through anything. I washed my face a few times before changing into a tank top and sweatpants and going downstairs. I smiled at the sight of blankets layering the couches along with pillows. I could smell popcorn which was very nice. I loved popcorn... but then again, I honestly liked all foods.

"What are we watching Gabs?" I asked as she pulled out a selection of DVD's.

"Your choice." She said as I contemplated over what movie to watch.

"We should watch Step Up Revolution." I said, pointing to the DVD.

"K, ADDY ARE YOU DONE WITH THE POPCORN?" She shouted as Addison ran in with two bowls full of popcorn.

"Yes, let's watch." She said as we snuggled on the couch and began watching the movie.

I had fallen asleep halfway through the movie, and was awoken by texts from Nash, asking if I was okay. I know he's Hayes' brother, but he was still one of my best friends.

Me: I'm fine Nash, thanks.

Nash 👣: I'm sorry, Hayes can be really dumb sometimes.

Me: It's not your fault so you don't have to apologize.

Nash 👣: Is movie night fun? Gabbi texted me.

Me: The best, you should come to a movie night one day. It'll probably be more exciting with you around.

Nash 👣: I'm the life of the party.

Me: Indeed you are.

Nash 👣: We're filming a video sorry gotta go, stay safe and don't go outside, you might step on poop.

Me: Thanks for the tip Nash, you always know what to say.

I looked around to see the other girls sleeping so I decided to just take out the DVD and watch Friends since it was on at night.

Hayes' POV:

I laid on the bed with no emotion whatsoever. I wanted Lacey back. I needed Lacey back. How was she going to take me back after I kissed another girl. I punched the wall in anger, I probably shouldn't have done that. I could feel it throb, but it didn't matter.

"Woah, Hayes, calm down." Cam said, coming over to me to look at my hand.

"What is up with you? Nash told me what happened. You need to get your shit together if you wanna get Lacey back. Punching walls isn't going to do anything for you, now go wrap your stupid hand up." He said as I looked at him with guilt on my mind. I got up and went to wrap my hand. I had to think of a story because I knew someone was going to ask me what was wrong with my hand during the meet.
