Chapter 16: "Really?" "No"

Chapter 16:

Hayes' POV:

"Fine, I'll have to do this the hard way" she said as the footsteps got louder and louder.

"Do wha-" I was interrupted by her slamming her lips onto mine, she wrapped her leg around mine as I heard a gasp. I pushed her off and saw Lacey standing there crying.

"Hayes?" She said in a cracked up voice as she ran away.

"LACEY, WAIT. SHE KISSED ME LACE" I said screaming and running after her. I knew where she was running, but I knew her well enough to give her time. I decided to take a shortcut to her destination to watch over her.

Lacey's POV:

How could he? What did I do wrong? I should've known he didn't really like me. This was all Georgina's game.

"LACEY" His screams becoming more distant as I ran faster. I started looking behind me every couple of seconds and I realized that Hayes was gone.

"Hey" He said as I turned back around startling me.

"I don't care what you have to say." I said running home. I figured he had given up.

Good. I didn't want to see him. Never again, but I would have to and I knew that well. I headed to the play ground, the place where I thought about things when I didn't dance my feelings away.

I sat on the swing and closed my eyes. I tried to hold back the tears, but they still came flooding out. A tall, dark figure came my way.

"Hey" 

"Oh, hi" I said to the familiar face.

"What's wrong, did my brother do something?" Nash said wiping the tears off my face. I sniffled and then nodded.

"What happened, you can tell me, it'll be our little secret." He said putting his finger in front of his mouth.

"He kissed Georgina" I managed to sniffle. The expression on Nash's face looked... surprised.

"Georgina? Are you sure?" He said looking at me.

"Yeah why?" I said wiping a tear from my face.

"He really loves you. Like loves you, he literally won't stop talking to you. And for him to leave you for someone, especially Georgina, would be crazy" Nash laughed.

"Really?" I said with a small smile. 

"No" He said as my smile dissappeared.

"That was an understatement." He said as we started laughing.

"Don't do that." I said playfully punching him.

"There's that smile I've been looking for. But really, he does love you, and I don't think he was the one that kissed Georgina." Nash said.

"Maybe I jumped to conclusions" I said sniffling.

"You'll never know until you ask him, I'm sure that he's getting really torn up right now." He said

"Fine. If you wanted me to talk to him, you could've just asked." I said as we walked to his house.

"Hey Lacey" Elizabeth said as she gave me a hug. 

"Hi Elizabeth" I said as she almost squished me to death.

"Do you know what happened to Hayes, he looked sad when he came home." She said as I frowned.

"I'm going to talk to him right now." I said running upstairs. I looked into Hayes' room, where the door was wide open. He was just sitting on the floor. Doing nothing.

"Hayes?" I said as he looked at me.

"La- lacey?" He stuttered

"I'm so sorry it wasn't my fau-" He said walking over to me as I interrupted him.

"No. I'm sorry, I didn't let you explain what happened." I said hugging him.

"She kissed me, you've gotta believe me" He said as I smiled and nodded to him as we hugged again.

"Please know that I love you, and I wouldn't change a thing about our relationship, especially with Georgina" He said as I was laughing.

"I know, I love you too" I said as we kissed. It was sweet and short. It was, well, cute. It was amazing. 

"Come on lovebirds rap it up, Lacey's mom just called, she has to go home" Nash said interrupting our time.

Elizabeth drove me home along with Nash and Hayes in the car.

"Bye" I said as I hugged Nash, then Hayes, then Elizabeth.

I woke up the next morning, groggily as always. It was Sunday so I basically had nothing to do. I thought about what had happened last night. Hayes loved me. I loved him. We hugged and kissed. "Thank you" I whisphered indirectly to Nash. I drowsily checked my clock. It was 7:58. I went back to sleep for the next hour or two.

Hi guys. Sorry for the long wait. I have like 2 more stories on diff acc. Jamie is like sick :( and I have loads of homework. Luckily thanksgiving break is coming up so I have a whole week to write YAY! Happy black friday shopping ladies and gents.
