Chapter 14: Back To School

Lacey's POV:

It had been a year since I'd been to school. I didn't know what to expect now that I am back. I didn't want to know anyone except Hayes, but I did. I had already gone here, I had already been through the wrath of Georgina and her clique. I don't know if I can face them again. Was I really ready to go back to school? The place that I had tried to kill myself? Maybe I'd find the mystery boy. I hoped I would find the mystery boy.

I pulled out a white cropped sweater and a short black skirt. I also picked out black knee high socks since it was getting chilly. I continued with my morning routine and changed. I decided to leave my hair in a cute high ponytail. I did my makeup and went downstairs for breakfast.

I was handed a plate of waffles as I sat down. My mom was cooking for Lauren since Lucy was already eating. Lauren and I finished up quickly and left the house as my mom got Lucy ready for school.

"Do you want to go back" Lauren asked me

"Yeah, I guess, homeschool is boring." I said quietly.

"Are you ready to go back" She asked

"Yeah, I get to see Hayes more too" I answered, but really I don't think I was ready. I was scared. I was scared that maybe I'd get bullied again. I was scared that I would end something that was not meant to be ended early. We soon arrived to the school and I was dropped off by Lauren.

I walked through the familiar hallway as all eyes were on me. Whispers filled the halls as I walked to the principal's office to get my scedule and locker number and combination.

"Welcome back Lacey" Mrs. Abbrams, the principal smiled.

"I'm glad to be back" I replied with a small smile.

"Here is your scedule and you have locker number 77 next to Georgina Pendleton and Hayes Grier, I'm sure you remember them.

"Yep" I gulped nervously walking to my locker hoping that Georgina wasn't there.

My schedule was:

1 Homeroom Fulton, Catherine

2 Algebra 1 Metzler, Chad

3 English Smith, Michael

4 Physical Education Taylor, Debbie

5 Science Laatsch, Brad

6 Lunch A

7 World Language Gracely, Devin

8 History Saunders, Mat

9 Theatre Gerdy, Joanna

I walked to my homeroom, and I was happy to see Hayes in the same one. I greeted him and we then compared scedules. We both had Algebra 1, PE, Lunch, and History together. I immediately frowned when I saw the blonde girl with the Regina George look.

She wore a white through top and a hot pink bra and a black skirt that was only an inch under her butt.

Georgina had been in the same homeroom as me. I made sure to stay calm since we weren't going to have a simiilar scedule just because we were in the same homeroom, but I was wrong.

"Oh poor little Lacey, how's your therapy going?" She said mockingly

"I stopped going months ago" I said, as Hayes walked up from behind me.
