Hayes' POV:

We rode back and I gained the courage to ask her. We got to her house and right before ringing the doorbell I decided to ask her out.

"Do you wanna go out, on a date? Maybe tomorrow to that carnival?" I said waiting for her answer.

Lacey's POV:

"Do you wanna go out, on a date? Maybe tomorrow to that carnival?" Hayes asked

I wanted to say yes, but the words wouldn't come out of my mouth. I was so happy. I was speechless with probably made me look retarded. Finally after the longest period of silence, I spoke.

"Umm sure, yeah, I'd love to go" I said, biting my lip and then showing a small smile.

"Great. Umm I'll see you tomorrow." He replied smiling.

On the outside, I was happy, but on the inside I was ecstatic. I rang the doorbell and my mom opened the door.

"Hey mom!" I said as she looked at Hayes, I guess I forgot to introduce him.

"Oh Yeah, this is Hayes Grier, he lives a neighborhood down from here." I said glancing at Hayes.

"Yes, by chance are you Elizabeth Floyd's son?" She asked Hayes

"You know my mom?" He asked confused

"Yeah, how about you come in for awhile." She said as we walked into the living room.

It turned out that my mom had met Mrs. Floyd today while at the park with Lucy, who knew Skylynn and the four of them somehow ended up getting ice cream and coffee.

We had a small snack and watched some TV. It became 10 and Hayes walked home.

"I'll text you" I said before he walked out of the door.

*Three hours later

I walked upstairs and changed into a tank top and shorts. It was midnight. I plugged the charger into my phone and started to text Hayes, it seems like he beat me to it.

Hayes 😍😎 See you tomorrow😘

Me: See you tomorrow☺️

I brushed my teeth, washed my makeup off and all of that nighttime stuff and jumped back on the bed.

Hayes 😍😎 Goodnight💤

He texted me goodnight! I was freaking out jumping on the inside. My heart skipped a beat. I had to tell Gabbi and Addison, but first I had to text Hayes back.

Me: Nite 🌠

I tried to be cool and calm, but I couldn't help it. I let out a scream and my mom came in to check on me.

"Are you okay?!??!?!?! You scared me Lace." She said in a scared voice.

"Sorry mom, my bad, just excited" I said in an innocent voice.

(Group Chat)

Me: OMGOMGOMGHAYESTEXTEDMENIGHTICANTTAKEIT!!!!

Gabbi Bear 🐻🎀: WHAT!??! ARE YOU GUYS ALREADY DATING??!

Addy 💁: LACE DONT LIE TO ME.

Me: Oh yeah, HE ASKED ME OUT TOOO IM SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!

Gabbi Bear 🐻🎀: Well, any first dates yet?

Me: Maybe... YES, tomorrow at the Carnival!!!

Addy 💁: What are you doing texting us?!?! Get some sleep! It's like 2 in the morning you need energy tomorrow!

I soon fell into a deep sleep.
