It was now morning.
Kai had told all of their friends about Amelias condition, they told them she was fine and they'd be home with her soon.
They didn't get much sleep, all they did was watch Amelias chest move up and down with slow gentle breaths.
Amelia started to stir awake catching Kai's attention immediately.
"Amelia?" They asked as she continued to groan and move about.
"Hmm?" Amelia opened her eyes but closed them straight after due to the light beaming in from the windows. "Rise and shine" Kai smiled down at their friend.
"Where am I?" Amelia asked as she slowly started to sit up.
"Hospital you don't remember what happened?" Amelia thought for a moment before it all came flooding back to her.
"Oh Christ" Amelia flopped back down on the bed knowing that Kai must of found her like that.
"What happened Ames you didn't seem like you were going to relapse" Amelia shook her head.
"I don't know what happened one minute I was fine and the next I was searching your cupboards for medication" she looked at the floor whilst she spoke feeling nervous around Kai all of a sudden.
"I didn't know what to do when I found you there" they said their voice almost a whisper.
"I'm sorry" she grabbed their hand, their warm hand.
"Derek came to see you, but you were still asleep so he said he'll see you in you dorm later this week he has exams" Amelia nodded her head
"you didn't-" they cut her off first
"your mum and your sisters don't know" Amelia sighed in relief.
"I mean you've just woken up I don't want to put you in a coma" Amelia laughed at that.
Amelia had left the hospital with Kai and were now in Kai's dorm, with Ashley and Tom.
Amelia had told them about how she was feeling and what made her do what she did, but she had also said that she didn't want to talk about it for long and would want to move onto a different topic afterwards. They were now watching a film.
Amelia was cuddled into Kai's side and Tom was sat with Teddy whilst Ashley was sat with Owen.
"Hey" Amelia whispered into Kai's ear whilst their focus was on the film.
"Hey to you too Shepard" they whispered back not tearing their eyes from the screen.
"I'm tired" Kai looked down at Amelia for a moment.
"Go back to yours to bed?" They asked turning their attention back to the Tv.
"You come with me?" She asked her eyes pleading to Kai that she needed comfort right now.
Kai looked at Amelia again trying to read her face.
What does she want? Why do I need to come back to bed with her? Is she thinking straight? Many questions racked Kai's brain but they nodded anyway.
Everyone was too engrossed in the film to notice Kai and Amelia slipped away.
They made their way to Amelias dorm knowing they'd be alone because Owen was with them moments ago in Kai's dorm.
"Why am I here Ames?" Kai stood by the door as they closed it.
"Do you not want to be here? she turned and asked.
"I do but I'm just confused" Kai looked at their feet not wanting to make eye contact with Amelia.
"I asked you to come back to my dorm with me what's confusing about that?" She asked as she got herself into bed.
"Oh you just wanted me to walk with you? Want me to go?" Kai turned to leave but Amelia stopped them with her voice.
"Bartley come here" Kai slowly turned back around so they were facing Amelia, and walked towards her bed with caution.
Amelia raised her duvet and gestured for Kai to join her. Kai looked at Amelia before joining her in bed.
As soon as Kai laid down, tucking one hand behind their head Amelia was curled into their chest.
"You're very comfortable Bartley" Amelia murmured as she nuzzled her nose into Kai's chest.
Kai's breathing was more laboured now, they felt so nervous and it was almost annoying.
"Your heart is beating very fast are you alright?" Amelia asked concerned for Kai.
"Yeah just a tad nervous" Kai responded honestly.
"I'm making you feel nervous?" A small smile was sported by Amelia, as she lifted her head from their chest and drew loose patterns on their stomach.
"I'm just a nervous person" they replied Amelia knew that wasn't true.
"You're not a nervous person, you're always super calm" Kai shook their head.
"Or is it just me that makes you feel nervous?" She asked moving her face closer to Kai's.
"No" they shook their head as Amelia rested her hand on their chest and her face near their neck.
"That's strange, because your heart is telling me something different" Amelia rested her face in the crook of Kai's neck.
Amelia felt so safe within Kai's neck. She felt as though nothing else mattered but her and them.
The world went quiet and so did Kai. All she could hear was their breathing.
Amelia didn't know what came over her but she started to place so kisses to Kai's skin.
Kai's breath hitched in their throat when they felt Amelias soft lips touch the skin of their neck.
They relaxed further against the pillows. "Amelia" they whispered placing their hand on her back.
"What are we doing?" They asked as Amelia raised her head from Kai's neck.
"I don't know but I like it" Kai wasn't expecting that.
"You do?" They asked. Amelia nodded her head in response.
"If we are going to do this we need to do it properly" Kai said as they moved their other hand behind their head.
Amelia nodded her head in approval.
"You want something to happen?" Amelia asked as she leant back down and rested her head in between Kai's shoulder and their neck.
"Of course I do" Amelia hummed in response.
"I just don't want to loose you if we mess it up" they continued.
"You'll never loose me"
