Kai and Amelia had been away from each other for the past 2 days.

Amelia was thinking about what had happened and wanted to give Kai time.

Kai on the other hand was avoiding Amelia because of what they think she did on purpose.

They were mad at Amelia for kissing Link, but also very confused.

She had said that it wasn't what it looked like but they were struggling to understand.

"Still not talking to Amelia?" Tom asked as they wrapped a towel around his waist after his shower.

"Avoiding her" they replied. Tom shook his head.

"You cant do that forever Bartley" only Amelia called them Bartley. It reminded them of her, something they didn't want to do.

"Don't call me that" Tom raised his hands in fake surrender. "I'm right" Tom continued as he dried his hair with another towel. "Maybe so" Kai was just upset. They'd speak to Amelia when they were ready.

Owen was back from camp.

Amelia and Owen discussed their feelings and decided to not do anything else that could ruin her and Kai's relationship.

"Hello Shepard I'm back" Owen dragged his bags inside their dorm and plopped himself on the bed. Amelia was sat on her bed cross legged studying.

"Hello Owen. How was it?" She asked smiling at the blonde haired boy.

"Amazing, but I'm exhausted" Amelia chuckled to herself whilst flicking through the pages in her textbook.

"How was everything back here?" He asked. He knew something had happened when Amelia didn't respond straight away.

"Me and Kai like each other, but they saw me kissing Link when they came to pick me up from the library. I didn't know they were going to confess how they felt for me, they had flowers and candles and chocolates it was going to be perfect" Amelia sighed and laid back on her bed.

"You kissed Link" Amelia nodded. "He kissed me I didn't want it though" Owen nodded.

"Did you tell them that?" Amelia shook their head.

"No, but I tried to" it felt good to talk to someone.

Normally she'd talk to Tom or Ashley but they were probably siding with Kai.

"Look she probably didn't mean it" Ashley was listening to Kai's side of the story. Kai shook their head.

"I don't know Ash" they looked down at their feet as they swung them back and forth off the bed.

"Talk to her Kai" Kai shook their head.

"I'm not ready" Ashley sighed and pushed them from the bed so they were standing.

"You'll never be ready. Go" Kai looked at Ashley but knew she wasn't taking no for an answer.

"Ok ok I'm going" they spoke when they received a glare from Ashley.

Kai knocked on Amelias door before opening the door.

"Kai" Amelia wasn't expecting to see Kai stood outside their dorm.

"Hey Kai" Owen waved to Kai. Kai smiled politely at Owen before turning their attention back to Amelia.

"Can we talk? In private?" Amelia nodded and stood from the bed.

They walked outside of Amelias dorm in the corridor.

"Explain" Kai leant against the wall and waited for Amelia to speak.

"What?" Amelia asked confused.

"Explain to me what happened"

"I was waiting for you outside the library earlier than expected and then Link came out from the gym and walked towards me. He said he wanted to talk to me about something and then he said he'd show me instead. Before I knew it his lips were on mine. I hadn't planned it, I was too shocked and then you were there, it's like it all happened so fast. I pushed link away and ran after you" Amelia was rambling because she felt nervous. Kai was looking at the floor whilst Amelia spoke.

"You really didn't want him to kiss you?" They asked as they tore their eyes from the floor and to Amelias.

Amelia didn't respond instead she just stepped closer to Kai. Kai's heart rate increased when Amelia placed her hand on their face.

Amelia had to stand on her tiptoes when wanting to kiss Kai. The height difference was obvious but Amelia thought it was cute.

"I really want to kiss you" Kai leant into Amelias touch closing their eyes at the feeling of Amelias breath against their face.

"Not him" Kai moved their hand to Amelias chin and raised it slightly so she was at a better angle for them to kiss her.

"What's stopping you?" Kai smirked. Amelia leant closer until their lips crashed together.

Amelia felt like a fire was burning within her. She felt hot from the kiss.

For someone who hadn't kissed anyone before Kai was damn good at it.

Amelia pushed further against Kai causing them to lean further against the wall.

They hadn't realised that Tom and Ashley were stood outside Kai's dorm watching the scene.

"Yes! Finally oh my lord" both teens sprung apart at hearing toms excited tone.

"Fuck off Tom" Amelia touched her bottom lip as Ashley ran over to her squealing.

Ashley dragged Amelia into her dorm whilst Tom stood cheering silently.

Kai tasted like cinnamon and honey, sweet and soft.

"What happens now?" Amelia asked as she explained what happened before the kiss.

"Date them" Amelia shook her head.

"It'll make things messy" Ashley rose her eyebrows in response.

"What, and things aren't already messy?" Amelia pondered her words for a moment before nodding.

"Exactly"

"Dude go for it" Tom was sat on his bed as Kai paced the length of their room.

"What if she's not ready? What if she just wants something casual? What if-" Tom rolled his eyes before standing from his bed.

"What if you're overthinking this. Snap out of it Bartley, and go get your girl"
