Kai couldn't sleep.

They don't know wether it was because they had a few to drink or because Amelia was getting lucky with Owen right now.

They allowed their eyes to close for a moment before they were interrupted by a loud knock on the door. Kai swung their legs out of the comfort of their bed and made their way to the door.

"Kai Amelia is crying in her sleep" a worried Owen was stood at the door.

"We didn't do anything more than kissing, she said she needed to think about what she was doing when she was sober and then everyone left soon after and she fell asleep" Kai grabbed their slippers and walked as fast as they could into Amelias dorm.

Owen was right. Amelia was in tears shaking and sweating.

"Amelia, Amelia it's Kai wake up for me" Kai had done this before.

They knew how it went.

They picked Amelia up and held her against their chest.

"Shh it's ok I've got you" Amelia woke up and gasped for air clutching onto Kai as tight as she could.

"He came back" she sobbed into Kai's shirt breathing becoming more laboured as her tears increased.

"I'll take her to my room to calm her down" Owen nodded and Kai thanked him for letting them know.

Kai carried Amelia into their dorm, she wrapped her arms and legs around their waist and tucked her head into their neck.

"He always comes back when I drink" Kai knew who "he" was. Her father normally returned when she was drunk and fell asleep. The night he got killed haunted Amelia.

"I've got you" Kai leant down and placed Amelia Into their bed.

Knowing from experience that Amelia doesn't like being alone after these nightmares they took their slippers off and crawled into bed with her.

Amelia instantly curled up against Kai resting her face in their neck.

This was all they craved.

They craved her touch like this so bad. It pained them that they couldn't get this whenever they felt like it. Such sad events lead to them being cuddled in bed.

Both Amelia and Kai fell asleep not long after arriving back to Kai's dorm.

The morning soon waking both of them again.

Amelia groaned at the force of light against her eyes. Kai was still sleeping but was starting to wake up when Amelia started to move.

"Have you got ants in your pants or something?" Kai asked their morning voice a lot deeper than usual.

Amelias body froze.

What are they doing in bed with her. Please tell me they didn't sleep together.

Oh god oh god. Amelia looked under the sheets to see if she had clothes on and thank god she did. Amelia sighed when she saw she had the same outfit on as last night.

"We didn't did we?" Kai hummed in response not knowing what she meant.

"We didn't sleep together did we?" She asked again this time earning a small chuckle from Kai.

"No Amelia chill out" amelia let out another exasperated sigh when they said those words.

"I'm that bad huh?" Kai asked teasing the brunette. Amelia shook her head no.

"It would just complicate things" it would, but that didn't sound so bad to Kai.

Their impending crush was increasing for Amelia and it was becoming difficult seeing her with Owen.

"How did I get into your dorm?" Amelia asked as she scanned Kai's room.

"Owen came and got me he said you were having a nightmare and crying, we've been through that before so I just went to get you" they explained. Amelia groaned in embarrassment.

"Owen saw me crying" Kai nodded giving Amelia a sad smile.

"It's alright if you haven't scared him off yet then you're doing something right" Amelia smiled before rolling over Kai and standing on the hardwood floor.

"Ouch you could have just asked me to move" Kai placed an arm behind their head watching Amelia grab a bottle of water from the fridge.

"You looked comfy" Amelia shrugged as she spun the cap off the bottle and drank the water.

"Morning Amelia, morning Prince Charming" Kai flipped Tom off before getting out of bed themselves.

"I'm going back to mine for a shower I'm praying that Owen's asleep" Amelia left Kai's dorm and went to her own.

"I know she's always in here but you brought her back to bed last night? You got lucky?" He asked a smirk evident on his face.

"Nope. She had a nightmare about her dad I went to go get her it's happened before I know more than Owen does on how to deal with her when she's having one.

"I'm sorry if we woke you" Kai explained before apologising to their friend.

"It's ok I was already awake.

"She is so calm with you though I don't get it" Kai furrowed their eyebrows together confused by what Tom was going on about. "Don't get what?" They asked.

"Just fucking tell her about how you feel already, you've got nothing to loose" he was right but they were scared that they would loose Amelia.

The only person they valued more than anything in the world.

"I'll consider it" Tom nodded but left the conversation there.

"I have triple biology today. It's a good day" Tom grabbed his books and waited for Kai to be ready.

"New hoodie?" Tom asked as they mad their way towards him by the door.

"Yes" they nodded their head a small smile on their face.

The hoodie was light blue with the CSGO logo on the front.

"love it" Both Kai and Tom left their dorm for their classes.

"Amelia managed to have a shower before Owen woke up, she grabbed her books and everything she needed before he woke up.

She was so close to leaving her dorm room.

"Amelia?" He questioned. "That's me" Amelia spun around on the spot to see Owen without a shirt on. Oh god not now, before Owen spoke she beat him to it.

"Im sorry about the nightmare" Amelia looked down at her shoes being embarrassed by last nights events.

"It's alright I just didn't know what to do so I grabbed Kai" Amelia smiled at the thought of her best friend. She really doesn't know what she'd do without them.

"Kai has witnessed it before" Amelia looked up to meet Owens eyes.

"They told me" Owen tilted his head slightly a sad smile on his face.

"We're ok?" Amelia asked her hand moving to the door handle.

"Of course" Amelia smiled at Owen before leaving for her class.
