"When are we moving into our dorms?" Kai asked as they bit into their Burger.
"Next week I think" Amelia replied as she filled out a worksheet for her homework.
"I can't wait" Kai mused they were so looking forward to leaving their dads grasp.
"Help me pack next weekend? You know he doesn't dare touch me with you there" amelia nodded her main focus being on the sheet in front of her.
"Hi Amelia" Link say himself down next to Kai. Amelia looked up from her sheet at the camisole voice.
"Congratulations you're the first person that managed to get her to look up from her homework sheet" Kai sarcastically slow clapped their hands. Amelia glared at Kai and kicked them under the table.
"Ouch"
"What's up link?" Amelia asked. "Well I was wondering if you wanted to go to the science club with me. I've heard that you like science" Amelia raised her eyebrows at the offer. "She's going with me" Kai said as they leaned back in their chair eyes scanning Link.
"He can come with us" Amelia didn't want to be rude and say no, so she just made it work.
"That sounds so fun" Kai said with a straight face.
"Kai don't be horrible" Kai rolled their eyes and stood before chucking their food in the bin.
"I'm suddenly not hungry. Have fun at science club I'm taking a rein check" Amelia looked at Kai not understanding what was wrong with Link joining them.
"Kai come on" Kai grabbed their bag and walked away.
"I'm sorry about them" Amelia apologised having known Link witnessed the whole scene.
"It's cool" Link waved his hand in dismissal.
"I'm sorry if that's caused a fight" It was nice that he felt the need to apologise but it sounded more condescending than anything.
"It's alright they'll get over it" Link smiled in response before seeing joe walk over to them.
"Link science club starts in 5 minutes you coming to get good seats?" She asked noticing Amelias presence
"hi I'm joe Wilson" she held her hand out for the brunette.
"Amelia Shepard" she replied shaking the girls hand firmly.
"I'll see you in there?" Link asked. "I'll see you in there" Amelia nodded.
Kai felt frustrated and they couldn't exactly pin point why.
They knew it was because of link but they weren't quite sure why he bothered them so much.
He was harmless yet here he was making Kai feel frustrated and angry every time he came near Amelia.
Kai had decided to go to the library,
they also had a test tomorrow so it made sense, they sent Amelia a message to tell her where to meet them after the club. She replied with an *ok* Perhaps them walking away and storming off pissed her off.
"Amelia" Amelia walked into the classroom and heard link before she saw him.
"Hey guys" she smiled at link and joe as well.
It didn't feel like an hour had passed.
Amelia said goodbye to Link and joe before making her way to the library.
"Amelia wait" Link called before walking over to Amelia at a fast pace.
"What's up?" Amelia asked just wanting to get to Kai. She missed them. It was meant to be there thing that they did together.
"Are you busy Friday night?" Link asked. "Me and Kai normally have movie nights on Friday" Amelia replied.
"When are you free?" Amelia thought for a moment. "Wednesday after school" link smiled brighter this time.
"I'll see you Wednesday after school? We can get ice cream or something?" He asked rocking back and forth on the pads of his feet.
Amelia nodded her head "sounds good" she smiled
before they both parted.
Amelia waited outside of the library like Kai had told her to. She smiled to herself when she saw them exit the library.
"Shepard" Kai had their hands in their pockets,hair messy.
"Bartley" Amelia nodded.
"How's your boyfriend?" Kai asked dragging their feet along the floor as they started to head home.
"He asked me to go out with him after school on Wednesday" Amelia replied scanning Kai's face for an indicator as to why there were so upset earlier.
"That's lame" they replied.
"Right what's your issue with link has he said something to you?" Kai shrugged their shoulders
"nope I just don't like that he's taking you away from me" Amelia didn't expect Kai to be honest with her without having to dig for it first.
"He won't take me, I can assure you" Kai shook their head.
"You cant assure me what's going to happen in the future Ames"
"I know but this I can. It's me and you Kai I'm not going anywhere" Kai smiled running their hand through their hair.
"So where is he taking you?" They asked wanting to act interested for Amelias sake.
"Ice cream I think" they nodded in response.
"You're so messy when you eat ice cream you don't want him seeing that on the first date" Amelia laughed and shook her head.
"It's not a date" Kai just hummed in response.
"Sure"
Kai went round Amelias house to help her start packing for when they moved into their dorm rooms.
"Really Ames you wanna take your blanket I swear you've had this thing for as long as I've known you" Kai held it above Amelias head and waved it about. Amelia snatched it from their grasp
"yes I want to take it" Kai laughed and shook their head.
"You still own a hello kitty lip balm oh my lord Ames you have to get rid of some of this stuff" Amelia laughed as they held the lip balm in their hand.
"Calm down" she snatched the lip balm from them and chucked it in the bin.
"Happy?"
"So happy" they continued to pack for another hour before Kai needed to get ready to leave.
"If he gives you shit message me and I'll come meet you ok?" Kai nodded in agreement before grabbing their jacket and leaving Amelias bedroom.
Amelia opened her window before shouting down at Kai. "Good luck on your test tomorrow Bartley!"
"Thank you Shepard!"
