Gerard snuck into the alleyway, looking both ways before stepping forth. He knew what he was doing was wrong — hugs, which were once widely accepted across the US (and the world), were now considered addictive, lethal, and, most importantly, illegal.
There were still plenty of huggers in New Jersey. However, their work was now done in secret and, often times, for high prices. Gerard continued through the alley til he could squint and see Lindsey in the shadows of the night. He could barely see her mischievous smile or the outline of her trench coat.
"So," Gerard began, voice quavering, "y-ya got the goods?"
Lindsey nodded curtly, but did not look solemn or somber. She smiled an evil smile.
