When Luke had woken up the next morning, Brooke had already disappeared from his bed. She had left a note describing that she had urgent matters to attend to in her world, and that Ruby needed to remain in his world for the time being.
Surprisingly, Ruby had taken this fairly well. Her and Rosie seemed to be getting on like a house on fire despite only knowing each other for around half a day.
Thoughts of their last trip to the arena plagued Luke's thoughts while he sat at the back of the school bus on it's way to the museum. The school trip was mandatory, otherwise he would've just skipped it. Kasper was sat next to him avidly conversing with Damien (Who was sat in the row across from them) about their card game last night and how close he was to winning.
Lucille was on Damien's other side, however since she found comfort in the world of books, not people, she wasn't adding much to the boys chat.
With headphones in and music playing, Luke wasn't paying anyone any heed, more so focused on the blur of green passing by which happened to be trees and bushes. In all honesty he was thrilled to be going to an History museum, it seemed like something Lucille or Brooke would be more attracted to.
"Hey."
"Is he alive?"
"Yeah. HEY!"
Luke felt a jab of pain and sat up straight. Staring at him right in the eyes was Kasper, he seemed to be trying to attain Luke's attention.
"What?" Luke's tone was a bit harsh.
"Rude. Anyways we're here now, so let's go." Kasper checked him over like he was worried, but made it discreet.
Luke sighed and pulled out his headphones, grabbed his bag, and followed Kasper off the bus, then lined up with the other students.
"Right everyone, you're representing the school today so be on your best behaviour. I want you all to find a partner before you go wandering off-" Their teacher carried on but Luke had given up listening.
Kasper noticed Lucille shooting glances at Luke and got an idea. He hurried over to Damien and asked to partner up. After Damien confirmed with Lucille that it was okay, they paired up and headed inside.
"Hey. Let's be partners, you're the only other one I know here." Lucille said this like Luke didn't really have a choice, but maybe that was just her emotionless attitude.
Not really having a reason to say no, Luke just blindly agreed and walked alongside her into the museum.
The floor was marble, and quite hard. The walls were tall and long, painted mainly white with black supports. Exhibits ranged all over the place, with elevators taking them to other floors and bridges hanging overhead of them on the higher sections.
"So where would you like to go first?"
This took Luke off guard.
"Last night you were pestering me and begging for answers to your questions."
"That was last night. We aren't in the lore part of the chapter yet, so let's explore."
Luke shook his head and sighed, he was starting to think him and Lucille would never see eye to eye.
The two of them ended up going to view some historical art, and conversations ended up sparking from there. Lucille even opened up to him, albeit very slightly. He found himself begging to enjoy her company for the most part, and suddenly found her to be alot more fun than some book obsessed freak.
"So what about this one??" Luke asked enthusiastically as he dragged Lucille over to another painting.
"It's very unique. I particularly like the blend of colours near the top." She answered with an air of elegance.
