Sophie's hands had started stinging. One thing she hadn't told Luke, the flames she could produce would burn her if used too frequently. The scientists had referred to her as "A failure" and didn't care for her much, which helped her slip under the radar and escape the lab.
She winced slightly when creating another barrier of flames to block a barrage of water daggers from Kai. One of the daggers had managed to pierce through the flames, it sliced a deep cut into her cheek just barely missing her head.
"Kai, please stop!"
"No I dont think I will, traitor!"
Kai's unhinged laughter echoed throughout the compound as he manipulated more water into blade shapes.
Robin had taken the position of trying to freeze the floor under Sophie's feet, her fire kept melting it in time before it caught her enough to stop her reacting.
Sophie breaked from shielding for a moment, she bent over and cried out in pain, her hands were red raw and looked like they would start bleeding. Kai saw this as a perfect chance and propelled more water daggers towards the crying girl, each one hit their mark, stabbing into her skin and detonating in an explosion of water.
She fell onto her back and was soaked from head to toe, she couldn't manifest anymore fire due to her being drenched. She knew it was hopeless, what with the fast girl beating up Luke and her being defenseless, she just hoped for a quick death as she saw Kai generating more moisture from the air and creating more weapons.
Robin finally managed to freeze the ground under Sophie. Glowing blue ice rooted up from the ground and encased her limbs, rendering her immobile.
"Finish her off!" Robin shouted.
Kai's smile stretched from ear to ear, he was in hysterics laughing at Sophie's predicament.
"This is what happens to traitors! Ahahahahaha!!"
A voice from the other end of the compound stopped his laughter.
"Hey, asshole! Didn't you know water and electricity don't mix?"
It was Luke, he charged Adamas up with the electrical element and threw it like a javelin towards Kai.
Brooke didn't realise what was happening before Adamas was already near Kai's position. She started sprinting towards the sword trying to stop it before it hit her friend.
Luke also started running, but towards Sophie. Adamas slammed into Kai's body and his soaked form absorbed all the electric and conducted it through his entire being. His laughter turned to screams as he spasmed uncontrollably.
Brooke jumped forward and kicked the sword out of him so fast that she didn't get electrocuted. Her after images showed her dashing back over towards Luke.
After his body fell to the floor, Robin assessed the damage done to Kai. Kai's chest and stomach were burned horribly, it looked like second degree burns. Robin touched Kai's chest gently and applied a frost to it that'd numb the pain briefly.
Back over at Sophie's location, Luke had arrived and began punching the ice blocks that held her arms and legs down.
"Luke, j-just run..." Sophie looked tired and really cold. Her lips were slowly turning blue. Robin's ice was clearly very strong.
"No way. I'm getting us out of th-"
A loud crack sounded out through the air. Brooke had gained enough momentum and caught up to Luke, she had booted his head so hard it sounded like she'd cracked his skull.
The after images of her faded and Luke fell down on top of Sophie.
"P-please don't kill him...just take me back! I-i don't want him t-to suffer..." Sophie was struggling to speak from the coldness of the ice, her lips felt brittle and delicate.
