Dinner was in one word: Catastrophic.
Luke's mind was still clouded with thoughts on Adamas and Dralvir's scared expression upon holding the sword. He originally wanted to ask Brooke how she came to possess it, but now wasn't really the time for that. The smell of whatever food was about to be served assaulted his nostrils and completely distracted him from any thoughts about Brooke or Adamas.
The main course was a medium-rare steak topped off with plenty of vegetables and a glass of wine on the side. In short, it looked very posh. Luke decided to leave out the part where none of them were actually eighteen just yet, he saw it as a useless bit of information.
Before digging in he looked around to see his friends reactions to the elvish dish bestowed upon them, it was a mix of surprise and delight, it must just taste that good.
He cut up some of the steak himself and brought it to his mouth, chewing on it gently before a fiesta of flavours erupted on his tongue, it was like tasting a whole new paradise. He tried to keep his table manners while hungrily wolfing down the rest of the dish.
Across the table, Ruby was sat next to Damaeir and looked deep in thought. Her initial reaction to seeing him was head over heels, what with him being her type and being a well built soldier looking type of guy. She was contemplating on the best method that would make him notice her but still coming up with nothing.
Estel, being opposite Luke and Brooke, noticed Ruby's little glances towards her younger brother and decided to peer into her mind for a moment to see what the fuss was about, pleasantly surprised at the girls thoughts.
"So, Ruby, do you have a boyfriend? You're so pretty, I would assume you do." Estel cleared her throat before asking this.
It was abit on the nose, but Damaeir was oblivious as hell so it would work for now.
"Me? Oh no, I'm just waiting for the right person that's all!"
"Oh? And what kinda person is that, hm?"
Ruby tried not to glance at the elf boy sat next to her stuffing his face. Most girls would be unattracted by this, but Ruby thought no less of him.
"You know, strong, kind, makes you laugh, the basics. I'm not super picky!!" Ruby flushed.
Estel grinned and nodded in understanding.
Lily was sat next to Kasper and Ava, devouring the meat sat on her plate in front of her. The girl truly was a meat lover, despite her elven heritage. Kasper had carefully placed a napkin in her lap as she annihilated the meat, not caring about keeping it all in her mouth.
Ava looked mortified at this display of table manners, it was on par with Damaeir if not worse.
Estel was by far the most gentle and elegant member of the Stark children when it came to mannerisms, using cutlery and carefully cleaning her mouth with a serviette after each bite.
Given her sudden interest towards Damaeir, Ruby hadn't realised it yet but her seduction power was starting to take ahold of him. She'd never learnt how her power worked, and how to control it was a mystery too, but she hated how it made people fall for her.
Her whole life, men had wanted her purely based on their lust due to her power. She wished she could meet a man who looked at her for her and not for her power. She had used it in the past to seduce guys she found attractive and spend the night with them, but the older she got she found herself wanting more than just casual sex. She wanted a relationship that was healthy.
Because of all these reasons, she despised her seduction, regardless of what she told people. She was willing to use it if the fate of the world hung in the balance, but for a guy she was interested in she would rather it stay away.
