The air was cold as snow slowly began to fall towards the ground, settling on car windshields and the pavement. It was the middle of January, hence the wintery weather. One boy with dark brown, unkempt hair found himself staring out of his classroom window at the falling snow with wonder. He was seventeen years old and just barely managing to scrape through school.
"Mr. Wilson!" The teacher at the front of the class shouted, knocking the boy out of his trance. "Pay attention!"
The boy nodded and muttered an apology, he'd been spacing out a lot lately. It was probably due to him finding high school to be incredibly dry and uninteresting, he just wanted some change and excitement within his life for once.
He sighed and flipped the pages of his book until he found where he had left off last. Snatching up a black ink pen he scribbled his name in the top left corner. Looking back at him was a blank page that only had two words currently on it, Luke Wilson.
School was never exactly Luke's forte, but he thought that high school would be a big enough change to actually incite some fun into the six and a half hours he had to spend there. Perhaps he was expecting too much, all he really wanted to do was go skating at this point.
The bell sounded all throughout the halls and alerted students of the anticipated lunch break that had finally arrived. Luke's head shot back with a jolt when he realised he had leaned so far forward and zoned out to the point where he had almost fallen asleep at his table.
"Alright, class, go and have lunch. Make sure to do the homework I set out for you all, it needs handing in by Friday!" The teachers warnings weren't heard as the students bustled out of the class as quickly as possible.
Luke remained behind and as such, was the last student to leave the classroom. He didn't feel like getting trampled was a good enough reward for food and an hour break.
On the way to the lunch hall he was ambushed by his best friend, Kasper Ronin. Kasper was about the same height as Luke, but had messy white hair instead of Lukes dark brown locks. He was a joking and energetic soul, always bringing the party with him and putting smiles on other people's faces.
"Yooo, what's up bro?!" Kasper smirked as he and Luke fist bumped.
"Same old. I didn't manage to get anything written down in class." Luke admitted with a bit of shame.
Kasper frowned.
"Aren't you usually super smart? Or am I confusing you with Lucille?" He stifled a laugh at the last bit.
Lucille was a beautiful and charming girl, however her love for books and academics made most guys just think she was a nerd. She always had a mysterious air about her too.
"No, I usually am pretty good. Although, Lucille is probably ten times better." Luke added with his own laugh.
Kasper shook his head as the two of them walked into the lunch hall and began their search for an open and clear table to sit at. Deciding it would be better to split up, the two took one end of the hall each and began the endeavour. The hall itself was rather large, the windows covered in snow made the outside gleam with a white tint.
Coming up short on any luck of finding a table, Kasper tried asking around to see if they could sit somewhere else, however no tables were budging or even hearing him out.
On the other end of the hall, Luke wasn't having much luck either. It was only when he heard the precious and sweet tone of his little sister calling his name that he knew what was coming.
"Luuukkeee!!!"
Luke trudged over to the table where his sister, Rosie, was sitting. Rosie was an extremely wholesome and lovely girl, standing at about 5'11 and sporting long dark brown hair that went into loose curls at the bottom. She usually dressed in pink or black clothing, and even went as far as to once try and dye all her hair pink, but Luke had to stop that when she nearly dyed it purple instead by mistake.
