Chapter Eleven

"Is there someone else? I mean you've been blowing me off for weeks" Lynsey asked.
"Yeah, but nothing has happened"
"Isla?"
"Yeah" Dani looked at the table.
"I knew it. You're always talking about her. I figured weeks ago. Longer than that, the day she was in the police station and you wouldn't kiss me"
"Lyns, I'm sorry"
"It's okay. Think we both know I was just a one night stand that went on too long"
"It's not like that"
"Just fuck off"
Dani nodded and left the cafe.

"So your sure about this."
"Yeah. I've liked her since the moment I met her on the prom."
"And the Hannah thing?" Beth quizzed.
"I realised it was about Dani, I can't stand the thought of her being with anyone but me"
"Well. You said she was a good kisser. I hope you still feel that way later"
"I'm hoping for more than a kiss" Isla smirked.
"Get you"
"But she's not allowed to have girls stay over and I'm still not completely comfortable about mine I guess. So I have booked a room in a hotel"
"Isla Foster, you dirty stop out." Beth grinned.

Dani settled at the back of the bus. She thought about Isla and hoped that she still wanted to meet. Dani what you scared about, I'm nervous.

Dani: I'm on my way back from Greenock. You still want to meet? X

Isla heard her phone buzz, she was driving. She'd just left Daniel with Beth. She was half way to Largs. She knew Dani would kill her if she used her phone while driving. She'd be there in about 15mins. I can't wait to see her.

Why hasn't she messaged back. Please I hope she's not changed her mind. God I am so nervous. What's going on? Dani fidgeted with her hair.

Dani: I'm a bit nervous, feel like I'm going on a blind date and meeting you for the first time x

Isla pulled into the carpark. She lifted her phone. Oh she's nervous, Isla smiled.

Isla: Hey, bella signora, jump into my sack ;) x

Dani laughed out loud on the bus. She's been on the translator again too. I'll jump into your sack anytime.

Isla: I'll meet you at our spot, I'm in Largs already. Which you have not to read as I'm desperate haha 😛 xx

Two kisses. Dani smiled at the message. She was just entering Skelmorlie, 15mins.

Dani: Hey beautiful lady :) I'll be 15minutes or so. Can't wait to see you. I'll have to watch what I'm saying in italiano now xx

She looked out the window at the weather. The weak late autumn sun was trying to drill through the cloud. The waves looked dark and rippled with the breeze. She could see some cormorants or shags she was never sure which was which lined up on a rock and a few ducks braving the bobbing water. I'm going on a date with Isla Foster. She smiled.

Isla waited at the prom. She was nervous now. What if she doesn't come. Stop it she's coming. Hopefully we both will. She found herself smiling at her dirty thought. Hannah, briefly entered her thoughts. She pushed it away. Dani made her feel completely different. And everyone has a past. So what if they had shared an experience? She doesn't rule me anymore. I want Dani, that I am sure of.
She looked out along the prom. Busy as always. It's not even a particularly nice day. It's a bit quieter here a very short walk from the town. Just walkers mostly. Dogs and baby's in pushchairs. When did dogs get buggy's?
"Doc" she heard Dani shout on her from behind.
She turned and smiled. Dani had obviously been rushing from the bus. She was wearing the same exasperated smile she was the day they first met. I knew she was someone special.
