It was Thursday before Christie appeared back in the school. Dani was just getting ready to leave the base and head to meet Isla for lunch. When the door chapped.
"Come in" Dani shouted from her desk as she put some confidential files in her drawer.
"Dani" Christie said meekly.
"Christie, hi how are you?"
"I'm okay. Still a bit confused and having bad dreams."
"You looking for Isla?"
"No I just wanted to come in and say sorry for how I spoke to you last week. It's pretty embarrassing, but not only the eh, em dirty stuff I said to you. I'm sorry I called you a pig. And I wanted to give you these to take to the station. Christie handed over a box of heroes. I know it's not much just wanted to say thank you for getting me out of there."
"You're welcome"
"I'm going to go get Kel for lunch. Say hello to Isla for me."

Dani was unlocking the base. She thought Sam would have beat her back from lunch but no. He must be getting extra practice in. The first rehearsal for the school show was yesterday and their performance was most definitely the worst. Zachary, 'call me Zach' had managed to sign the school nurse so it was decided that the foursome should dress up as Abba. Sam, the only heterosexual was most certainly the campest. And his voice was weirdly stupidly high.
Stephen, was awesome and seemed a bit annoyed that he was with the three losers from the support base. Isla and me, well we just laughed.

"Dani" oh god Tracey again

"So I heard you are bringing your partner to the dance"
"Yeah. We thought it would be nice."
"Good, I heard from Isla's ex wife last night. Believe you spoke to her on the phone. Just wondering if your girlfriend knows you spend so much time with Isla "
"Yeah she does. Do you have anything interesting you want to say? Or is this just another dig at Isla"
"It's just a warning wouldn't to see Isla get hurt again, I think she likes you."
"I would hope she likes me. We've been living together for the last month."

Dani opened the base door.

"Hey Bjorn wait for me" Sam smiled. That was the other part of the fun the students had come up with. The guys were to be in drag. Sam was Anni-frid. Isla has to sport a beard she was Benny.
So a rewritten Mariah song preformed by talentless cross dressed staff. Great.
"I was just with Rachel, getting some singing lessons. She said tomorrow she wants you and Isla to join too"
"I'm at the station tomorrow, sorry Sam. I'm sure Isla will be well up for it."
"I'll let Rachel know, to book us in"
Dani smiled.

"Harrison. Hi how are you?"
"Yeah good. So the governors have been talking and I'll be taking over from Gerry in the interim. Until they can fill the position on a more permanent basis. They were asking if there was a replacement for my post in the interim. I put your name forward along with a few others. I didn't want to make it obvious that you would be my preferred candidate" he's so having this conversation with everyone one of the names being considered.
"Thanks, well I am pleased to hear that you have the confidence in my ability to recommend me for consideration".
"Quite alright, so I have heard that things are good on the home front again"
What's he heard and from who, "yeah I'm in a relationship again if that's what you're asking"
He nodded, "Good, we were all worried about you for a while there. But glad to hear your seeing Stuart"
Seeing Stuart? "Seeing Stuart?"
"The campus officer, Stuart Cochrane"
"I'm not seeing Stuart. I was married to woman. I'm in a relationship with" god Dani doesn't like being called a woman all the time. Fuck here goes, it's going be official soon enough "Dani Woods, the campus police officer."
"Oh sorry, I thought it was still Stuart. "
"No Dan has been here almost 4months now. I am sure you'll have met them."
"Yeah so I have silly me" I bet he knew that all along just wanted me to say it. Fucking sly bastard. "Anyway, I best get to class."
