Chapter Twenty-Eight

Hannah stood with her hands on her hips. She looked at them both and raised an eyebrow. She's obviously got her contacts in for this evening, and she's had her hair done. What the hell is she doing here. Isla looked at her. So fake. I fell for that. She is so not my type at all.
"What do you have to nothing to say?"
"No don't think so" Isla smiled. Squeezed Dani's hand and they walked on.

"You okay?" The police officer checked.
"Yeah babe. I'm with you." Isla smiled. They walked into main hall. Sam had text earlier to say he had saved them seats.
"We're looking for table 12."
"Did I tell you you look amazing?"
"Yeah about 100 times already" Isla blushed.
"So who is Sam sitting with?"
"His wife Catherine, met her briefly once she's quite quiet. Rachel from music and her boyfriend I think Russ, he's a PT into boot camps and all that, loves himself. Grace from the English department she's on her own, her husband died about two years ago, and eh Hamilton the most boring man on the planet. We make up the eight"
"Should be fun" Dani smiles.

"Hi Dani" Tracey who looked really uncomfortable in a dress which was too short for her said carrying tray of drinks. Isla stuck her head out from behind Dani. "Isla" she adds.
"I thought you were bringing the missus"
"Can I do it" Isla whispers. Dani nods slightly.
"They have"
"Oh where is she then"
So doesn't get it. Totally hasn't crossed her mind that I can pull Dani. Isla smiled, "Dan babe. Think we might have to make this really obvious"
Dani turned and kissed Isla. "Isla is my partner,"
"O oh" Tracey's jaw dropped. "I had no idea you told me you were the lodger."
"No I told you I live with Isla, you assumed I was the lodger. Have a good night Tracey."
"So up her own ass" Dani said. "She's one of these women who think their gods gift."
"That was fun" Isla smiled.
"You using me to get your own back Ms Foster?"
"Well she's been so obviously into from day one. Revenge is sweet"
Dani shook her head. "Come on let's go wind up Sam"
Isla laughed.

"Hi" Dani said to the table as they took off their suit jacket and sat down. They noticed Sam's wife give her the once over.
"See. That's how you dress. Catherine. Pleased to meet you"
"Dani"
"Dan this is Russ"
"Hi Russ. Isla was saying you're a Personal Trainer. I haven't been to the gym in a while. Be good to pick your brain later"
Isla looked at Dan and smiled.

"So our round I guess." Dani said to the table. "What's everyone drinking"
Dani took the drinks order. Stood up
"You need a hand?" Isla smiled.
Dani leaned down and kissed her. "No I'll be fine"
Grace looked at Isla and smiled, "I had no idea. Good. Your way to young to be on your own. She seems like a nice woman."
"Hey you seen Hannah's here?" Sam asked.
"Yeah we run into her already."
"She's here with PE Tracey"
"Figures. I don't care to be honest" Isla smiled. "Sam. Me and Dan were talking and we think that we eh, should change the song for the show"
"I've learned all my words now" he looked disappointed.
"Seriously" Rachel asks
"Yeah we thought we could do Santa Baby- the Kylie version."
"Yous are barely coping with the song your doing?" Rachel says.
Rude, we are trying our best, "well that's why we thought we should change it"
"I think Sam's been putting the effort in, you should stick to that song" Rachel said.
"What are you doing?" Hamilton said.
"We are preforming at the school show next week. With Stephen the nurse"
"How'd you end up doing that?"
"Dani" both Isla and Sam replied, one with enthusiasm the other less so.

"Heard my name,"
"Yeah I was just saying to Sam we were thinking about changing the song for the show to Kylie"
"Yeah your disco needs you?"
"I thought we agreed on Santa Baby"
"No you wanted Santa baby, I wanted to re right your disco needs you"
"And I told you this school needs you, doesn't scan"
"She's right" said Grace. "It's the right syllables but wrong sound"
English teachers, Dani smiled "well santa baby it is"
"I don't like it." Sam said.
"I think you should just put the effort into learning the one you've got." Rachel said again for the benefit of Dani.
"Yeah us too, we just thought it'd be funny to wind up Sam"
"See what it's like sharing an office with these two. Always picking on me"
"So is this the menu?"
"Yeah it's the usual Beef or Chicken choice"
"I put a vegan request in earlier" Russ said.
