The quiet snowy morning enveloped the cabin in a serene blanket of white, the world outside hushed under the fresh snow. Inside, Taehyung and Jimin were awake before dawn, their laughter and chatter soft so as not to wake the others.
The warm glow of the kitchen light contrasted with the cold outside as they busied themselves with preparing Jin's surprise birthday cake.
"Here, put it in the oven," Jimin said, handing the batter to Taehyung. The two worked in perfect harmony, their movements synchronized like a well-rehearsed dance.
The smell of vanilla and chocolate filled the air, mingling with the scent of pine from the wood-burning stove "All set now, I'll go complete the decorations," Taehyung said excitedly, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
They both skipped to the living room, hanging balloons and Jin's favorite flowers, the delicate blossoms adding a touch of spring to the wintry setting.
Candles were placed around, casting a soft, flickering light that added to the cozy ambiance. The gifts they had ordered had arrived the previous night, quietly placed around the room while Jin was asleep.
The two soulmates had woken up at six in the morning, eager to prepare for Jin's surprise birthday celebration. They had already packed their bags for the return trip, but this moment was dedicated to their beloved Jin.
"I think the cake's done," Jimin said, placing the last present under the tree. They both hurried back to the kitchen to check on the cake. The others were still fast asleep, the cabin enveloped in a peaceful silence.
"Hmmm, smells delicious," Taehyung hummed, watching Jimin expertly ice the cake and place fresh fruits on top, the vibrant colors a feast for the eyes.
With the cake ready, they carried it to the living room, now a festive wonderland, and waited for the others to join them. The air was filled with anticipation and the warmth of love and friendship.
After a while, Jin descended the stairs, a broad smile spreading across his face as they began to sing "Happy Birthday."
The effort they had put into the decorations and the atmosphere touched him deeply, making the moment all the more special.
"Happy birthday, Jin," Jimin said, holding the cake in his hands. Jin closed his eyes briefly, making a wish before blowing out the candles. The room erupted in cheers and applause, their joy palpable.
Jin moved on to open his presents, each one a testament to the thoughtfulness and love of his friends. He marveled at the gifts, his heart swelling with affection for his chosen family.
"Hmmm, he's so happy," Taehyung sighed, leaning into Jungkook's embrace, who was still sleepy but smiling contentedly. Jungkook wrapped his arms around Taehyung from behind, nuzzling his neck.
"And it's time to give this muscled bunny a shower - you stink," Taehyung teased, heading upstairs with Jungkook clinging to him like a koala.
The morning continued in a warm, cozy haze. They shared chocolate milkshakes, toasting to Jin's happiness and the beautiful day.
Laughter filled the cabin as they recounted fond memories and created new ones, the bond between them growing stronger with each shared moment.
