The dimly lit basement of the Jeon mansion, a space designed with an air of secrecy and opulence. The walls are lined with vintage tapestries and intricate woodwork, giving the room a sense of grandeur.
In the center, an antique workbench stands illuminated by a singular spotlight, highlighting the delicate work of the lapidarist. Shelves stocked with precious stones and sophisticated tools surround the workspace, reflecting the precision and artistry that take place within these walls.
"Hermosa - Hermosa," Jungkook praises, his eyes fixed intently on the lapidarist's meticulous movements. The artisan shapes the prototype of the black ruby with expert hands, curving its features delicately, and crafting the sharp, pointed edges that give the gem its unique allure.
Jungkook and Hoseok stand side by side, observing the master craftsman at work. The basement hums with the sound of the machinery, the air thick with concentration and the faint scent of polish.
"Te no saber decir las separado" (you can't tell them apart), Jungkook remarks to the lapidarist. The man briefly glances over his shoulder, a smile of agreement forming on his lips.
"Sì- sì," he replies, returning his focus to the intricate task before him.
"He's really good, I must say," Hoseok comments, admiring the precision and skill of the lapidarist.
"Of course he is- I only choose the best," Jungkook smirks, a hint of pride in his voice.
The thrill of deception hangs in the air, the anticipation of the gem being displayed and mistaken for the original adding to the excitement. Jungkook's eyes gleam with satisfaction at the thought.
Two hours later, the work is complete. The prototype is handled with utmost care and placed in an acrylic display case, secured separately from the original.
The resemblance is uncanny,
indistinguishable to all but a trained gemologist. Jungkook’s hired expert meticulously reviews and studies each gem after it is extracted from his mining sites, ensuring their authenticity."Two more weeks till the grand event - let's see how it goes," Jungkook says before departing with Hoseok. He has already paid the lapidarist handsomely, commending him for his excellent work. The basement door closes behind them, the dim light casting long shadows, marking the end of another clandestine operation.
As they ascend the staircase, the air grows warmer, filled with the anticipation of the event to come. The mansion above buzzes with preparations, each detail meticulously planned for a night that promises grandeur and intrigue.
