The world came to when he pulled away, another moment of silence passing between us until he observed. "Yeah, that feeling is different." His lips pressed into a hard line as he processed, giving my hand a simple squeeze that made the sidewalk disappear. "I'll call you tomorrow." He was gone before I could reply.

I held onto my breath from the moment we parted and through the ride up the elevator. I fumbled with my keys, leaning against the door and releasing a deep exhale once I was inside.

I flinched at the sound of a light clicking on, Faye suddenly visible from the couch, one of her brows raised as she looked at me.

"Crap, you scared me. Is there a reason you're sitting in the dark out here?" I asked as I kicked my shoes off, my feet a little achy from walking throughout the night.

"I could hear Yoongi's old Civic from a mile away. I thought I'd add some drama to the moment." She laughed, patting the spot next to her. "Now, you said you'd tell me everything." She reminded me.

I plopped down next to her, propping my leg to the side so we were facing each other. "I will, but first tell me why you don't want me involved with him."

She shook her head. "No, you tell me what you did with him tonight first." There was a curious expression on her face as she leaned forward.

"Faye." I sighed, rolling my eyes at her.

She was stubborn as always, tilting her head slightly as she challenged me. "Sel."

"We just talked for a while and he kissed me before I came up." I did my best to sound a little detached, a thought suddenly occurring to me. "Wait, please don't tell me you dated him." I groaned, covering my face with a hand.

"Absolutely not. Yoongi just doesn't date so I didn't want you to get your hopes up." She explained.

I thought about his request to see me tomorrow and wondered if it was a date. "What do you mean he doesn't date?" I tried to hide the annoyance in my tone, somehow already struck with the urge to defend him and to take up for our connection.

She shrugged, walking the line between her desire to protect me and stay loyal to her friend. "He's obviously talented and you see how people flock to him. He's super humble so he'd never admit it but he does like the attention. I mean, who wouldn't? So just keep that in mind if you start to like him. You probably won't be the only person who has his attention." She spoke vaguely, her eyes widening to see if I understood her message, that he isn't one for commitment.

I nodded, pulling my bottom lip under my teeth before responding. "I think it'll be different for us."

"Sel," she put a hand on my knee, "Yoongi is a great guy, really. I just want you to be careful so you don't end up hurt. That's all." She spoke genuinely. I couldn't be mad at her, knowing that she wanted to protect me, but there was so much she didn't understand.

"I'll be careful." I promised, standing to head to my room but she stopped me, grabbing onto my arm and tugging me back onto the couch.

She laughed. "I know you don't think you're going to bed without telling me everything, and I mean everything." She scolded me for my attempt to escape.

I sighed. "It's hard to know where to begin and I don't want you to think I'm crazy." I shook my head, looking down at my hands.

"Hey, I'd never think you're crazy." She assured me.

I started from the beginning, telling her everything, the entire story from the attic to my friendship with Hobi and relationship with Jimin. Her brow pulled together for the majority of the time I spoke, and when I told her about prom night, about the dates, she finally interrupted.

"So one of the dates was today?" She wondered, her tone still unsure. I nodded in response and she followed up with another question. "And how did you know it was Yoongi?"

"It's hard to describe. It's a feeling that draws us to each other. I knew it as soon as I saw him." I confessed.

She was quiet for a while, occasionally opening her mouth as if she were about to speak but closing it again. After a few times I let out a breath, trying to gauge her thoughts. "You think I'm nuts." I commented.

"I don't," her reply was immediate, "it's just hard to believe all of this is real."

My fingers laced in my hair, giving a frustrated tug. "I know, but you're the one who believes in everything, aliens, ghosts, magic, so maybe you can just trust me on this one. It's real." I tried to persuade her.

"Hey, I believe you. It's just a lot to wrap my head around." She reached out to grab my hand.

We stayed up for another hour while I answered all of her questions, most of them about the pull, a feeling that despite being easy to express, was difficult for anyone else to understand. She hugged me for a long time when she was finished, and exhausted with talking it out we headed to bed.

After a long shower the next morning I started on some cleaning, tugging the sheets off my bed to wash and dragging my hamper down the hall, filled with dirty clothes from the week. I could hear Faye's voice from the kitchen, starting my first load and turning to see her pouring coffee and mixing scrambled eggs with her phone tucked between her shoulder and ear.

"Here she is now." She said, mouthing Yoongi's name to me as she handed me a mug of coffee, pointing at her phone. "I'm sure she could be ready by," she raised her eyebrows, looking at me as I held up three fingers, "three o'clock."

I giggled as she hung up, looking at me with a thrill in her eyes. "He told me to tell you he's excited to see you. Let the soulmate ventures begin." She smiled wide, holding up her mug.

"Well they began a long time ago but cheers anyway." I replied, clinking my cup against hers before taking a long sip.

Faye suggested something casual to wear, knowing Yoongi would err toward that side of things. I didn't want to assume it was a date, but was hoping that I could at least learn more about him, that feeling bubbling inside of me when my eyes met his again, standing outside of his car in front of my building right on the hour.
