The Unveiling

Chapter 1: where it all started

Is it painful you say? Have you ever felt someone literally stabbing you and the pain, the hurt you feel is unbearable, but you can't do anything about it? It's the heart-clenching torture that I have to go over and over again and I'm helpless as much as I am desperate. I want to scream and shout out in their faces, speak my heart out but, I can't. What is this torture?

She had been in this situation for a long time, but it wasn't always like this, and she curse herself for being born as a Werewolf. She was born in a pack called Red Mountain; their pack was named after the mountains that surrounded the beautiful territory where soil was colored in burning Red. The soil that it contains is used for making many werewolf medicines, it has an exceptional power to heal the wounds, though werewolf's wounds can be healed automatically but the power it possesses is exemptional. Due to this, they have many neighboring packs befriending them and also many packs envying and want everything to themselves. They've attacked their pack so many times and in one of the wars, she lost her mother. She was only five when it happened, she doesn't remember her face much but the family photo that they have, always makes her sleep better. It gives her strength, power like her mother is watching them from above and helping her to be a better werewolf.

Her dad is an Alpha of this pack, he is mostly busy in lot of pack duties as well as maintaining his position in human world. Though he has been acknowledged as one of the greatest Alpha's and been known to be not only most respected and feared one.
When he lost his mate, he mourned her loss for days along with the whole pack for losing their Luna. Her father didn't come out of his room after her burial for days and whenever she would pass by his room, she could hear him crying from the other side. Guess, being a werewolf do have some of its perks like speed, strength and ability of listening afar but also its own cons like losing a soulmate, falling apart and some like, those who couldn't handle, may lead to suicides. When her father finally came out of his room, he promised himself and his pack that nobody should go through such loss, so he started training each and every one of the pack members to their maximum potential.

Well, that means her and her twin sister too.

Though she is the youngest one but her older sister is the childish one. Her sister has always been more of kind, sweet and generous one, takes care of everyone, looks after her little sister and sometimes get her out of the trouble too. Her sister is studious in studies, knows cooking, applying first-aid and also helps around orphanage and elderly homes, she's the most awesome person in this world to her.

Her sister, Allison and her father- Alpha Harold never made her feel the missing spot of her mother, they were always there for her.

Allison always helped her in her studies to the menial things like keep her away from her father's scolding when she would sneak back in house late.
So, she promised herself to protect Allison with everything she has.
Since Allison is not very physically strong, and this one of the many reasons which makes their father worry about her sister, a lot.

Hence, She decided to practice hard-core warrior training since she was ten. Her father thought it was so much for a woman to go through, but she disagrees, no matter who'll take the throne tomorrow after her father, but she'll train herself so good that no one's family have to worry ever.

Allison and she are going to turn eighteen tomorrow and like Allison said,
'we're going to find our mate soon',

ugh.

Mate in werewolf world is someone who's your soulmate, the moon goddess has bound someone to you since you were born like your other half, but
she didn't believe in these things, other half like really? in today's world you don't need someone to define you, you can be whole person without any of those,

How?

By yourself.

But Allison is very excited to meet her mate but due to having the difference in their opinions, the two sisters would usually have fights and argument on such topics. Once, their fight went so bad that Allison cried in front of her younger sister and it made her feel like a terrible person that, she made her elder and one and only sister cry.
After that she decided that she'll never do anything again like this to hurt Allison. She know that there will be times when their thoughts may clash but she made a pact with herself that she will try to think from her perspective too and try to understand her situation as well.

Now, she teases Allison for crying that day, making her older sister whine at her to stop teasing her on how - her cheeks went all red along with her nose and ears, making her blue eyes become more bright.

She loves Allison's blue eyes, she wishes she had them too, Allison has got blue eyes and fair skin with long luscious brown hair from her mom while she got caramel golden skin and black hair like her dad, but the worst feature she got is her grey lifeless eyes, it makes people look at her differently and gets judged easily, calling her soulless.

Her dad said that she got them after her grandfather, he was known as the ruthless Alpha and was feared for his cold aura and demonically plain, soulless grey eyes, that with one glance people would be petrified.

But nobody knew he was a big softy for his family, her grandma just needs to say a word and he would put the world to her feet, you could say he was smitten by her. That's what she wants, a pure love, a love that her parents and grandparents had- sweet, blissful and true, it doesn't need to be all romantic though.

But, the world showed her how cruel some males can be.

Though her father has given equal rights to both male and female, but some packs are still there who treat women like trash and slaves in today's world. She hates those kinds, so she believes she's better off without a mate. And, whoever thinks they're better than her while the truth will be she can easily smash him down with her defense moves.

"Wake up, Ashley" Allison chirped near her ear

No! I'm not waking up, today I just want laze around and not do anything – she thought

"Get up, Ashley" Allison persisted

She can be very stubborn sometimes but not today, it's her birthday. She's not going to get her out of these soft comforters. Allison pulled the duvets off of her, shaking her to get up,

"Let's go, will be late for school"

"Ally, who goes to school on birthday, let me sleep" she pulled the duvet back up till her head

"Ashley!" she screamed

"Don't call me Ashley, call me Ash, how many times have I told you?!" she shouted back, scooting deep in comforts of her bed

"Allison dear, why don't you go ahead, I'll check up on your sister" her father's voice echoed inside their room as he entered.

She was not scared of her father but when his serious, his stern voice can make you feel like a little puppy

"I'm wearing your dress today" Allison sweet voice chirped in, and she dashed out of the room

"Ally, no..." Ashley got up faster than a lightning bolt while she marched out of the room, smirking away.

She sighed letting it go, it was of no use anyway as she was not going to school today, anyhow. Its usual for the sisters to wear each other's clothes, mostly her older sister wearing Ashley's, cause to be frankly speaking she's a messy person while Ashley is more of a strict person while it comes to cleaning or organizing. So, she usually put out her dress which she'll be wearing next day, all ironed and as Ashley's a late riser Allison will wear it and run off. She thinks it annoys Ashley, but little does she know if it annoyed her, she wouldn't be doing it every day.
