Chapter 19: A Ride with You

Ashley was called in for another meeting in Alarick's study, she just hates his study. She swears, one day she is going to burn it down and build a gym or even better, paint it with hot pink color on all walls to irk him.

When Ashley entered the room, other people were present there too, even Kai as well. Ashley smiled at Kai politely and glanced up at the other man, sitting on head chair, showing off that he is Alpha male. Ashley rolled her eyes on Alarick, glaring back at him.

Alarick mentioned everyone that he was taking some warriors along with him to meet a neighboring Alpha for some business and Ashley was supposed to come with them. Ashley was day- dreaming and didn't concentrate on any words of his but smiled plainly at Kai, knowing they will be together in this boring journey, at least. Alarick didn't miss their exchange and it irked him somehow.

The day before gala came and they all hit the road in different SUV's, Alarick made sure that Ashley was in his car and not with Kai. They were driving for more than 2 hours now and the girl next to him was still sulking, a small visible pout was there.

Her face was looking like a small, cute kid who was deprived of the candy.

Ashley was angry because Alarick was no fun in travel, he won't let her open the windows, blasting the AC in already cold weather. Won't let her play any music. No wonder nobody wants to travel with him and everybody abandoned her with this maniac, alone.

Ashley wasn't sure why she was going with them in the first place, she doesn't like to attend gatherings like these, everybody known/unknown only wants to know is she dating someone? what's going on? When will she get married? Have kids and now above all she has to see fake pity eyes of people and how sad they feel for her loss.

They finally entered the premises of Alpha Caleb and his wife, the Luna Cheryl's pack- Dark Shadow. Ashley didn't sleep for even a blink on the boring trip of three and half hours.
Alarick decided to mock her for fun.

"You should've slept, don't complain later"

"I don't sleep while travelling" Ashley mentioned, turning towards him, narrowing her eyes while glaring

"Oh really, why? Scared I'll do something" Alarick smirked

"Oh no, big ol' mighty Alpha. I'm worried for you, that I'll sleep and someone will snap your neck" it was her turn to mock back

"Oh, really and how's that gonna happen?" he asked, pushing her limits, to irritate

Ashley within seconds went near him, grabbing Alarick by his neck in a death grip, his veins prodding more under her rough but soft fingers. She was close. Hovering near his face as both of their eyes met and it was like everything went down in slow motion. Breaths mingling like a soft salsa dance and eyes deep diving in pools of unknown emotions.

For the very first time that day, Ashley looked in his eyes for this long. She could see speckles of sparkling blue surrounding his pupils and glistening, as sun would hit it. Thick eyelashes moving up and down like they were teasing her. His short forehead hair sweeping around, tempting her to touch them, feel the texture beneath her fingers to see if they are just as luscious and soft as they look.

Alarick gulped down too as her scent, hit his nostrils with full force, it was different this time, it had her own personal special flavour of chocolate mixed with the emotions, it felt somewhat like Fresh Wood Forest.

Alarick's bobbing Adam's apple made Ashley thin her lips as her tongue trying to dart out and get a taste of his delicious scent. His strong neck inviting her to make him his, her fangs taunting to come out and puncture his delicious neck. Her mind thinking what he would taste like.

Just a little bit of taste, maybe?

A loud honk brought Ashley's mind back from her hypnotised state. She sat back immediately, fastening her seat belt as sweat drops started to form on her forehead in nervousness. A loud thumping of heartbeat against her ribcage made her ears ring. Scaring her, from her own thoughts. She was getting frightened now, her wolf side was trying to take over its instincts. Mark him.

No! she will never do that, he belonged to Allison

Her wolf just wanted to be the rightful Luna. Maybe, for her Alpha. Show the world that this male is hers.

Ashley took a deep breath, calming her mind and her heart. She doesn't wanna be anyone's Luna, she is a born Alpha, a true blood. She closed her eyes, controlling her emotions.

"ASHu...."

Ashley heard a sweet and soft, pleasant whisper pass by her ears like someone was calling her. It had a different feeling deepen inside it, it was full of love and admiration.

She turned to side in a snap, to look who was it?Alarick felt confused, when she turned his way, abruptly. His eyes furrowed, making him stun on spot after seeing the scenario in front of him.

Ashley eyes have turned tint shade of red and purple, shining brightly.

"You called me?" Ashley asked, her eyes glowing while she tried to find the voice, again, glancing around with curiosity

"I didn't" Alarick whispered, he was shocked now and uncertain on what was going on.

Ashley blinked several times, in confusion, her eyes gaining their original color, her vision clearing some more. When she looked around they were already in front of the Dark shadow's pack house. Alarick wanted to ask if she was okay but Ashley didn't wait and hop down, out of the car.

Ashley couldn't understand what was happening, like something was pulling her, suffocating her in a twisted way, crawling up her inside and trying to grab her throat.

As Ashley gazes up, she sees the Alpha and Luna of Dark Shadow Pack were waiting for them by the entrance, to welcome. All of them puts on a bright smile and starts walking towards the pack-house direction.

They entered the mansion. But Alarick was concerned for Ashley, she was acting weird and didn't seem fine, he wanted to ask but big question was how? She was a fire spitting dragon and he didn't want to quarrel with her on other pack's ground, so he would occasionally glance at her side, to check on her, making sure she was okay. They were getting escorted to their respective rooms when smiling Luna Cheryl approach them and stood in front of her Ashley, surprising her.

"Luna Allison, your and Alpha Alarick's room is on second floor"

Alarick and Ashley got stopped on their track so did Crescent falls warriors.

"Excuse me" Ashley commented

"Well, Alpha Alarick's mother called, she mentioned Alpha and his mate is coming along and to prepare a special room for them"

Now it all made sense, it was all along the evil mother's plan, no wonder she didn't make a fuss out this time when they were going away together. She wanted to make a scene. Wanted to see if Ashley would make a fool out of herself in front of all of these people coming to the ball.

So, she wanted to see a scene, I'll give her one- Ashley thought, raising her head up in determination.
