Chapter 6: The Sweet Blessings

It was full moon today, a sweet blessing of moon goddess on her children, as many say. But not for Ashley, it was mating season for werewolves. Yes, that means, all the she-wolves who found their mate will go through the Heat- a sign to complete their bond and mate forever as one. They say after mating, the bond gets stronger. You can feel many emotions and feelings of your mate as well. Your senses get heightened, but....

It's a curse for me

Why?

One, cause her mate doesn't know she is his mate and

Second, he is in love with her sister

And the irony of her life, he is spending the Heat of full moon ceremony in their pack, so he could be there for his mate.

Lucky for her, her father made a basement just below the dungeons, it was soundproof and scent restricted. Every pack house has it, to help some she-wolves in need, cause some she-wolves don't want to mate with the males.

Reason? Cause when a she-wolf go through the Heat, the unmated wolfs tends to pick up the scent and go to her to easy her pain.

Heat is not just a wave that comes and go, it is a push to complete what you started. It gives a terrible pain to the female with various mood swings. While a female goes in heat, she oozes a hypnotizing scent to lure her mate to easy her pain and if he can't do it, other unmated one will, but her scent will be more strong for her own mate, pulling him towards her, like an Animal.

But for Ashley it wasn't going to be that easy, because she wasn't mated to just a normal werewolf, he was an Alpha, they tend to have higher senses and she don't think a simple basement is going to stop him. It might not affect other mates around but her own mate- it will, and it will be more difficult knowing he is going to be in 20-meter radius of her.

She was scared,

what if he comes to know that she is his mate and comes running to her? What about Allison then? He won't forcefully mate her, right?
No, she had to think of other options for her, because once the Heat will come, she knows, her senses will numb down and her instincts will only crave for her mate, to take her off this pain- her thoughts jumbling up now.

Her father promised to stay with her through all. Mated males won't get affected by Heat of other she-wolves, but he couldn't possibly save her through this dilemma. Her mind getting hazy from all the overthinking. When she will be going through this Heat she don't want to imagine him mating her sister just above her head.

It'll kill me for sure.

She called Louis immediately and asked for a big favor, he was hesitant at first, but she promised she'll explain him everything later. She made her way down to the basement, the pill in her hand, she looked down at it clutching them tightly in her fist but couldn't help and think of the consequences. A lone tear escaped from her eye, and she brushed it off hastily, gulping down the drug.

She closed her eyes at its bitter taste, thinking

If it would've been easy

The medicine slowly started taking its effect and sometime later her father also came inside with some cold water to help. He smiled softly but she could see the pain in his eyes and that's when it hit her, the lingering scent of her mate coming from her father. She puffed out the excess air from her lunges, biting her bottom lip harshly.

He is here.

Alarick was just floors up with her sister when he should've been here helping her. Anger and irritation snaked its way up to her neck. As time passed by her senses started slowly numbing down but all she could hear was a ringing sound at a distance. She started sweating slowly while her breath slowed down a little. Her father passed her cold iced bottles and she held it against her neck, it had started to itch there, making her scratch profoundly.

She felt slow pain surging through her lower abdomen, like someone was hitting her with nails. It started to increase in a painfully striking way. She felt itchiness and the pain creping up all over her body. Her breathing keeps going shallower making her inhale deep breaths.

She screamed!

It was getting out of control with the passing time, her father held her through the pain, trying to help her. He arranged a cold-water tub and helped her to get in. She had tears in her eyes but when she cried and cried louder, her father's eyes glistened with it, seeing her in immense pain.

I couldn't take it, I can't.

I want it gone.

Her eyes started to get drowsy, black dots spreading in front of her eyes as she surrenders to the darkness, she fainted.

When her eyes opened again, the cold water around her turned warm now. She looked around, her father was sitting on a chair at the corner, he was looking like he was sleeping, and she didn't have a heart to wake him up as another painful strike of Heat pass through her.

She screamed. Again.

Her eyes dilated fully into golden as her wolf was trying to surge forward, to take control and run to her mate, to complete the bond.

At last, her control broke, her body was turning hotter by time and torturous vibration surging through every cell of it, her senses getting numb as predator inside took over.

She got up from the water filled tub, her eyes fixated on the door, the only thing that's separating her from her mate.

Her father woke up from the sound, by one look he knew the Human side of her was long gone and the wolf inside her have only one goal. He came forward to stop her but she didn't budge as she took determined step towards the door,

Towards her mate.

 

Her father stood in front of her with a mind to stop her but the evil side of her just smirked at the male trying to stop her from going to her mate, getting what is Mine.
