Chapter 20: A trip to your self

Ashley and Alarick, both entered the given room, one double bed sitting in middle of the giant room. Decorated with golden and brown furniture, curtains even the sheets on the bed with same shades. Ashley sighed in annoyance, throwing her bag on the bed as she clutched her hair to tie in a pony.

"Remove the bag" Alarick ordered

She completed tying her hair, opening the window when Alarick's demanding tone fell on her ears, she clenched her jaw in fury and turned around to face him.

Her beautiful, wavy black mess of hair flying with the turn as well, her tanned skin shining with the descending sun.

"No!" Ashley declared with attitude

"And where would I be sleeping then?" Alarick asked, more like stated

"I do not care; I'm not sharing a bed with you"

Both of them remained silent. Later washed up and went down for the dinner. Tomorrow was the ball and people were working, decorating the area. The dinner table wasn't quiet as well, chatters were around, many Alpha and Luna's were around, chatting and gossiping about stuff.

Ashley felt a little reluctant to even start a conversation, because she was new and every other person was already acquainted. Luna Cheryl apologised for the mistake after getting clarified on that she is Ashley while Allison was her twin sister. Cheryl introduced her to others but all they talked about was how sorry they were for her loss, nevertheless she smiled back to their response and finally decided to walk away from this craziness and go on in search for the real reason she was here.

Ashley met Kai outside the dining room, with one signal from her, he excused himself from the group, walking towards her discreetly.

"Anything?" she asked

"Yes, actually. I heard some were talking about the forest here have some witches residing that's why there is heavy energy around this pack but, it seems those witches are in good terms with werewolves" Kai muttered.

"And?"

"And, they have recently been also attacked by some rogues but, they do not reside in their forest areas due to witches fear. They mentioned, the forest that connects Red Mountain and Crescent Falls pack have some very dangerous area where we may get lost or haven't been ever."

This perked her ears in curiosity, as Kai continued, "Those rogues might be hiding there, some of the warriors have seen the rogues and they use to belong to different packs before. We can figure out which pack they belonged from there scent but......."

"but what?" Ashley inquired

"But when we came to your pack" he sighed, like it was hard to speak out, "Some scents were quite different, they felt like they didn't belong to any pack"

Ashley was confused, "What do you mean? Are you trying to say, they are wolf who never had a pack but that's impossible even if a person is born from a rouge wolf, they'll have the scent of their original pack in them"?

"Exactly, it confused me too, I told Alpha about this but he didn't say anything"

Looking at the people coming and moving to their respective quarters, Ashley didn't delay and made her way to the room. She was pacing back and forth in their room when Alarick entered looking at her, he closed the door behind.

He walked further in the room, removing his wristwatch and placing it on the side table when he looked up, Ashley was staring at him. He ignored and moved towards the closet where he had put his bags, he retrieved his belongings for the night. He was about to remove his shirt but when he turned to look, Ashley was still staring at him with her analyzing gaze.

"Do you mind?" he asked as a matter of fact-ly

"Oh, go ahead, I've seen many shapes of men, it does not affect me" she said in dismissive way

But it angered Alarick that she has watched men naked, he clenched his jaw and walked dangerous close with every strikingly thunderous step towards her. His aura changed into intimidating one, trying to conjure her in.

When he reached her, Ashley looked up in his tantalizing blue ones that were shining golden, she can see his wolf was trying to break out of his control

Hmm, fascinating- she smirked inside

Ashley walked closer to him, taking a step further, flogging him with her pheromones, hitting him with it and surrounding him with them in full intensity. His mind shook too, from its scent as his wolf scratched some more to unleash

"Maybe...."

Alarick's voice came out groggier and rougher, going a level deeper, she can see his wolf was slowly taking over

"Maybe what?" Ashley teased him, trying to test him, biting her lip

Ashley has clouded Alarick's whole mind now while his wolf's voice keeps ringing in the back. He felt troubled, though his wolf was trying to take over and finally make her his by....... But no Alarick was still there, in control, pushing his wolf behind, away from this seducing female- who is snaking her form in his being, teasing him and mocking him.

Alarick pushed Ashley down on the bed, hovering over her as she sprawled on the bed like a beautiful goddess, her hypnotizing waves scattered like ocean's layers all over the sheets and her mesmerizing grey eyes captivating him.

Why do they say they are pale and lifeless, it looks like there is a universe build inside- he thought

Her veins prodding on her neck to which his skin started burning like it was on fire. Of course, this was bound to happen, they are mates. Their bodies know where they belong no matter how hard they fight against with their minds and against their hearts.

Ashley pushed him away before he could lean down some more, straightening herself and tuning her gaze cold and distant than before as she looked his way. Alrick too finally gain his control back from his wolf, dilating his eyes back to normal

"You don't have words to speak, you remain silent all the time but you always have something to say to me. Is this some kind of twisted mind game that you are trying to play with me, huh?" she questioned furiously

His mind mocked him, only if she knew

"Because you don't listen, they obey me because I'm their Alpha but I can't do that to you, cause you're my mate. I can't make you obey, only thing I can do is make you......"

Oh, how she wished he would complete that sentence

Ashley shook her head in disapproval and went to bed saying as she covered herself in sheets

"Try something and you won't be able to reproduce" she threatened

Alarick smirked as she laid down to sleep facing away and covering herself with the duvet
