Next morning, cold breeze was flowing through the windows, it wasn't bad for a werewolf's body heat but as the wind became stronger Ashley cuddled in sheets some more. Her feet and fingers were growing colder so she snuggled more into the heat as it surrounded her in a warm cocoon.

Ashley felt a movement beside her but her slumber was pulled her in deep with a sweet comforting scent enveloping her, sending her into a blissful calmness.

The warmth around her pulled her into tight comfort, shielding away from the cold breeze. It has a content and comforting feeling which send a small satisfactory smile on her face.

Slowly her body adjusted to the surrounding temperature, she moved closer into duvet, opening her eyes trying to adjust to the brightness of the Pink Morning.

A warm breath over her forehead made her eyes go wide as she immediately looked up at the intruder. Her mind stunned seeing the face in front of her, so close and so hypnotizing.

Ashley blinked several times to make sure she is not hallucinating. As her mind slowly became aware of the position she was in right now. Her heart started speeding up with every passing second.

Ashley felt her legs entangled with his while her arms right against his rhythmically, beating heart. His large body engulfed her in a tight embrace. His hands were surrounding her, one below her neck, supporting it as his long, veiny fingers entangled in her hair and other upon the curve of her waist, all his fingers dangling at the back but the only one, his thumb remained on the side like its remising its shape and texture.

The duvet laid around up to their waists but with the next sweeping cold breeze he tightens his arms around her some more, Ashley felt like he is trying to absorb her into him, swallow her all. Her eyes landed on his well-endowed face, his long lashes resting peacefully on his cheeks. His plum full lips turning red and his slightly tanned face showing all the contours of it in a bright sunlight. Some of his hair falling on his forehead, tempting her to touch it, feel its soft texture to see if they feel as how soft they look.

With a soft humming sound escaping his lips, he slowly started to blink his eyes open. Ashley got uncertain and immediately closed her eyes, so as to not get caught for checking him in broad daylight.

Ashley could feel her ears turning red as her heart started thumping loud enough that she could hear, she felt ringing in her ears with fast pumping of blood. She felt him pulling away as he detached himself away from her.

With closing of door, Ashley finally opened her eyes clearly, sitting up on the bed, taking deep breaths, to calm her unreasonable heart pulsations. She reminded herself, that she is matched to the most cold-hearted beast on the earth. But she smiled to herself that she already knows and her motto felt a little stronger of rejecting him after she finally becomes Alpha, because she doesn't want to take the pain of Luna alone. She will make him suffer harder than death.

Yes, because the pain of rejection is very horrible for females compared to males and that to being an Alpha's mate it's even harder but, once she becomes an Alpha due to their endurance power she'll finally will go through it normally. She'll give him back which he'll be sending her way.

At the following night, lots of people were coming for the Gala. Cheryl was helping Ashley to get ready. After doing her make up, Cheryl went downstairs to greet coming guests. Alarick was mingling with other Alpha males, chatting and sharing drinks with them. His eyes danced around and finally landed at the beauty descending the stairs.

Her midnight green dress sparkled bright than lights around, her dark locks swaying with her every step while her heels made ticking noise against the tile. Her dark red lipstick enhancing her features- her perfectly shaped jawline, her soft cheeks to her prodding cheekbones. As she ran her fingers through her hair, pushing the strands behind her left ear, her eyes made contact with his.

It felt like time stopped and the only sound surrounding them was of slight piano music playing in the background and possibly loud beating of Alarick's heart. Ashley was wearing a diamond ring on her ring-finger matching with her necklace and earrings, a perfect combination against her shining, tanned skin. Her pale eyes giving her a darker, seductive look and that curvy body, mesmerizing every person looking her way. She was indeed looking like a goddess descending from stairs. She made her way as Cheryl waved her towards the group of females.

With a small smirk Ashley averted her gaze from Alarick walking towards the group and they started conversing amongst each other. Alarick cleared his throat, looking back at the people in front of them and trying to understand what they were chatting about.

Caleb walked towards the group of his wife, smiling. He took hand of his wife, pulling her in his embrace and giving a loving peck on the back of her hand. He slowly guided her to the center and started the first dance of the evening. Soon everyone joined them, the night was blazing with these rich people and the aura they carried with them.

Ashley looked at the couple slow dancing in front of her, the love they had for each other, the way their eyes spoke for each other, it spoke louder than any words. The adoration they had was beautiful.

One of the Beta walked towards Ashley, she was sipping on the glass of wine as he extended his hand in front of her. She hates dancing and pretending but you only get once a chance in a time to flaunt around in front of flashy people and sometimes a bunch of haters to see them withering in pain.

Ashley walked with him towards the dance floor, hand in hand. She didn't care that other people were gossiping about her already.

The aura she possessed was dangerous but enchanting.

Ashley danced with this stranger while Alarick hated the feeling that passed with every second. He jugged down the remaining of his whiskey and started walking with determination.

Ashley laughed on this person's joke, though she didn't like him at first but he seems to be a decent person. Her eyes danced around but she didn't see Alarick anywhere near, she thought he would be burning with jealousy like a normal mate but well, what to except from exception.

Excusing some people Kai walked towards Ashley, asking politely the person to extend the dance with this lovely lady in front of them. Ashley grinned saying,

"Sarcasm huh?"

Kai laughed, "You know me best" and started dancing with her.

"I thought you needed help" Kai said with hint of tease

"I don't need anyone's rescuing, Warrior Boy" Ashley smirked as he twirled her around, pulling her back

She laughed whole-heartedly, he joined along

"You know you're annoying, right? Funny but annoying" Kai added with mischievousness

"You just hate that I'm smarter than you, Warrior Boy"

Ashley unknowingly, put her hand on Kai's shoulder affectionately in the trance of her laugh. In the upgoing blast of music and people's chatters Ashley heard a distant break of glass, when her eyes found the source she realized where her hand was and why Alarick was holding his shoulder.

Ashley retracted her hand away from him in a small guilt but her heartbeat fastened seeing a very determined but furious Alarick coming their way.
